Mother of the Bride and Pantsuit?

My daughter is getting married in May.  As the mother of the bride, is it appropriate for me to wear a pantsuit?  This is what I had in mind...something with a little bling, but comfortable at the same time.  I've asked my daughter and she said she was fine with it, as long as I was comfortable.  The mother of the groom is wearing a longer dress.

I like it looks very nice. You don't have to wear a dress.

I think a pantsuit is fine.  A pantsuit is appropriately formal and I think it's important to like/feel comfortable in what you're wearing.  I say go for it.

I really like that outfit! You certainly don't need to "match" the MOG or the bridal party.

All of the moms and grandmas at my wedding just wore whatever they wanted and each looked fabulous in their own style.

That looks fine. As long as what you wear is appropiately formal its all good.

I agree, as long as you accessorize it formally (well-done hairstyle, special jewelry, etc) you should fit right in.

My mom wore a knee length black dress with a black sparkly suit-jacket type top. she looked great!  some people might not want her in black, but we all know she looks great in it -- so why fight what looks good?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a nice, formal pantsuit. I say as long as your daughter is fine with it, go for it!
