Soo....FI and I signed a contract on a new house yesterday. We got a call today that it's not going to work out since we can't both be on the contract for a VA loan until we are married. Our options were to back out altogether, get married by JOP just to use the VA loan, or use an FHA loan. Well, we don't want to do a "prewedding wedding", and we don't want to make a down payment on a house and also have to pay monthly mortgage insurance, so we backed out altogether.
It's so frustrating, since that means we won't be able to get a house until after we're married. Ughhh
