How to fly with a wedding dress

I'm having a destination wedding... how do I travel with my dress?

Oh, and wearing it on the plane is not an option.

Check with your airline. Some will make you check it while others will let you bring it onto the plane and put it into the stewardesses' closets. Or you could always ship it to your destination way in advanced.

Ditto what Stina said. I flew with mine and there was no space for it in the closets, so I folded it carefully and put it in an overhead bin. I knew it would need steaming when I got to my destination anyway, so I wasn't heartbroken about it getting wrinkled.
