Has anyone done this before? (Casablanca wedding dress)

So, I found my dress!  I was told by the bridal salon that with Casablanca dresses you can mix and match the tops of the dresses to add more coverage or sleeves/straps without a seamstress having to make them from scratch. They just replace the front and/or back pattern ($70 apiece) and make it from the same material as the rest of your dress in the factory. My question is, has anyone on here done that before or does anyone know someone who has?

This is great for me because I've now ordered it just under 6 months from the wedding, so knowing the top will already be changed is great. It's just kind of hard to picture, and I'm wondering if anyone else had it turn out. The salon I ordered it from is really reputable and my consultant said they do this all the time.

Here's the dress:

But it will have this top, but made as the same material as the dress, and it won't go as low in the back:

  • I think that will be super pretty.

I've never heard of this, but I think you made great choices! Congrats on finding your dress!
  • I fell in love with 2004 before I got engaged.  I went through quite the ordeal to try it on.  When I finally tried it on, it was not my dress.  I don't know what I didn't love about it, but I did not love it on me.  I was so disappointed.  Your dress is going to look gorgeous!  Post pictures when you get it!!
  • I have heard of one bride who did something similar, I can't remember the outcome.  I can tell you that I bought casablanca 2027, and I had them remove the strap part, and it came out perfect!
