Does the wedding dress color have to match excatly with the veil?

My wedding dress is ivory and my veil is white.  The veil I chose came in 2 colors - white and ivory, but the ivory for that particular veil seemed darker than the ivory for my dress so i opted to get the white.  I got my veil today and and the veil seems too white.  Can i get away with this? or do the colors have to match excatly?

I have an ivory dress and the white veil looked silly with my dress. I'd say no.

If it looks too white next to the dress, then I wouldn't use it.

Coloring really depends on each manufacturer.  Last wknd I went with my bf to see her wedding dress.  Her dress is "diamond white" but next to my ivory veil, her dress looks like it's ivory.  It really just depends how the two look next to each other; not what color they're named/called

I think the white and ivory would look funny, it would make the ivory look yellow or stained.

I can't tell a difference and don't think they clash at all.

I really can't see a big difference in the two colors. Since the veil is going to be sheer no one would probably be able to tell unless they are right up on you. My dress is a very light ivory color but I am using my sister's veil from her wedding (11 years ago)...and her veil is white. I took it into the bridal salon when I bought my dress and no one could even tell. As long as the veil is not white white you should be ok.

Looks good to me. my dress was ivory and the veil white and you couldn't tell that there was a difference. I think It'll look very nice!
