what are you doing to do with your veil?

Are you going to wear your veil thruout your reception? are you going to wear it for pictures or take it off?

Re: what are you doing to do with your veil?

  • I wore mine for the whole night.  It was secured in with bobby pins so I just left it alone until I left the reception.
  • I don't know...I've got a cathedral veil too.  I've heard that a veil can also be bustled.  So, I'm thinking when I get to that point I'll see if that can be arranged.  If not, I may get another fingertip.  How many times does a girl get to wear a pretty veil all day? I'm going to milk it!  I heard Randy say on Randy to the Rescue that without a veil you're just a pretty girl in a white dress.  Ha!

Randy works in the wedding industry of course he will say that if it is a matter of selling a $500 veil or not.  He wants to make a good commission and selling accessories along with the dress is a great way to do that.

OP, I wore my veil for the ceremony and a few pictures.  I then took it out for the rest of the pictures and the reception.

  • I wore it for both ceremony & reception.
  • I wore my veil during the ceremony, pro pics, cake cutting and start dances. We cut the cake as soon as we walked into our reception. So I took my veil out before cake was served and before the real dancing got started.

  • I plan to wear mine until after the first dances, and then I'll will most likely take it off to show off my hair and be more comfortable that evening.

  • I had planned to wear mine throughout the entire reception, but ended up taking it out after we cut the cake.  You will be hugged by approximately 8 million people - and every single one of them will end up tugging on your veil which, if its secured as well as mine was, will actually cause your head to hurt!  If I had to do it again, I'd take it off before going into the reception.
  • I am going to wear it for the ceremony and pictures in between and then take it off right before the reception and put a flower in my hair at that point. :)
  • I wore it for the ceremony and photos after, then removed it right before the reception when I touched up my make-up/deoderant and what not. I figured it'd be easier to dance without it.

  • I've been thinking about this too, I think I'll end up taking mine off before the reception... Although yes how many times do you get to wear one, but I feel like its going to be a nuisance an get in the way, I have enough hair for that. Milking the gown definately though!

<div>This.  I wore mine (fingertip length) through intros, first dance, dinner, parents' dances, and first 'open' dance, then changed to a birdcage veil for the rest of the reception.  The big veil was hot and kept getting pulled on.</div>
