What kind of necklace?

My maids are wearing strapless sweetheart cocktail dresses with a sash and fairly large bow in the front from alfred angelo (clicky) Colors are navy for the dress and an antique pink for the bow. I was thinking a "statement" necklace would be fun, but do you think it would interfere with the bow and look too crowded?

  • Well, they have the model in the photo wearing a "statement" necklace of sorts and I think it looks nice there. I think if the necklace is more chunky than long, it should be fine.
  • I would say pearls with a twist; like a pendant, would look great
  • You could go bold or simple, Up to you and the look you want to achieve.
  • Hi!

I design necklaces and the link to my etsy shop is below.  A statement necklace would look great and something they can wear over and over again is even better!  My designs are meant to be versatile- they are colorful and all handmade by me with high quality gemstones and reasonable prices!  Please check out my shop.  I can do any custom orders and a lot of my pieces are one of a kind because of vintage brooches that I use.  I can also extend a discount if you order 5 or more!

Please get in touch with me!

    Thanks!

  • Yes, a bold statement necklace would be fine as long as the length doesn't interfear with the neckline of the dress.

But it's usually better to let your ladies choose their own accessories. It's the one way they can feel free to express their own sense of style and make the outfit their own, rather then carbon copies of each other. They'll be happier and more comfortable with accessories that reflect their own personalities.

Now that I think about it, I agree! I'm already making them wear the same dress. Letting them choose their own accessories will probably be a lot easier and make for happier girls in the end.

  • My first thought would be plain bold pearls. With or without a pendent. But keep the neckline short. If it got too close to the bow, it wouid be overkill. I also like the idea of having your BMs choose their own necklaces in order to make a statement and to reflect their own personalities. Just keep your right to "veto", in case they are like my BMs, who are rebels and like to push buttons : )
