Wear the veil for the first dance or not?

Not sure what I want to do and trying to get some feedback of what other brides did (or plan to do).  My veil isn't long, maybe elbow/wrist length so I wouldn't be tripping on it, but I was planning on removing it after the ceremony to take some pictures without it, I will still have a fresh flower in my hair and was planning on going with that for the rest of the day.  Thanks!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

  • I have a similar veil - I think at some point between the ceremony and start of the reception I am going to take my veil off.  I have a rhinestone hair comb I'll keep in, but I don't have to want to have to leave the reception at some point to have my veil removed & hair fixed once it starts!

And FWIW, my hairdresser rec. taking it out sooner rather than later, since it tends to get tugged on when people hug you and can pull your hair or mess you your updo if you have one.

  • I'm going to keep it on for the into and first dance.  Then take it off.

This is probally what I'll do.  I'm wearing a circlet with the veil clipped onto it, so I can take it off and leave the circlet on.

  • Mine is elbow-length as well. I'm removing after ceremony and will have a sparkly comb at my crown. Ditto to getting tugged on.
