BM Dress Dilemma (long) HELP!!!

My wedding is coming up in early August, and I'm starting to painc because we still have no BM dresses. It's a mess!

I'm having a less formal wedding so I originally showed them a color and said knee length or t-length and said that they could all decide on a fabric and just get whatever  dress that fit those guide lines that they liked.
My MOH & 2 other bridesmaids did this no problem. But the other 2 are freaking out because they are plus sized girls and saying they hate all the short dresses on them & would rather wear long.
I should mention that 1 of the "BMs" is actually a grooms attendent, so I have considered having her & the MOH wear the short dresses that they liked & then the other 3 BM's just wear the long... would this look stupid?

I just need some advice on what to do.  I really wanted a more casual look & the other 3 love the shorter dresses (and honestly they look better in the short ones too).  But I don't want the other girls to be uncomfortable or miserable either. what should I do????? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my that is a dilemma.  What if you suggested that the others get tee length dresses?  They are still shorter and then the plus sized bridesmaids would possibly feel better.  you coul stager them so that it's short/Long/short.  I just read that you said t-length or shorter.  I then do feel that they are being a bit unreasonable,  the t-length dresses cover the bulk of your shins and actually I think that t-lenght dresses look better on plus sized than long dresses. 

They should have voiced their opinion when you set the rules, not 3 moths till the wedding and 3 bridesmaids already having bought their dresses.

Wow, frustrating.  Honestly though, let the girls choose what makes them comfortable.  You already started down that path...why not go all the way?  IMO a tea-length dress can actually be more slimming than a floor length, but regardless of the reason, you don't want people in the party feeling self conscious or resentful.  Let them choose the longer dresses -- their confidence will shine through for you and in your photos.

This! If you really want them to all have short dresses I would stick to it. You'll regret it if you tell them to wear whatever and then it bothers you later on. I'm sure there are short or even tea length dresses that will look great on them.

I don't know...I really don't think it would be that big of a deal to have some in short dresses and some in long.  I think that if they're all the same color/fabric, it will still provide a very cohesive look.  Plus everyone will be happy in the pictures because they're comfortable and feeling beautiful...LOL.  Google images of bridal parties in varying length dresses and see if you're okay with the look or if it really bothers you.

There is a good chance one of my bridesmaids will be in a short dress and the other in a long one.  I really don't know b/c the only input I had was color.  It is just not something I care about, so to me, it really wouldn't be a big deal and wouldn't look weird with different length dresses.

I wouldn't worry about how it will look.

You'll have equal numbers of short and long dresses - it will look like you planned it that way all along; and I think it will add more dimension to your WP's look.

Would it have been nice if your BMs had voiced their concerns about short dresses earlier? Sure.

But is it worth asking them to feel self-conscious on your wedding day? No.

I've had pictures taken of me when I've felt unattractive, and it showed. If you're concerned about your wedding photos, let your BMs choose the length of dress they'll be comfortable in.

Still, my original advice still stands. 2 short dresses to 3 long dresses is still a good ratio.

I think it's fine to have them in different lengths.  However, you had stated that you had chosen a shorter length for the BM dresses because the wedding is more informal.  I think the only problem would be if they chose longer dresses that didn't match the formality of your gown.
