Re: Poll: Will they see your dress?

  • No way!  Luckily, he doesn't want to see it before the wedding anyway.

  • Nope. I want him to see me for the first time as I walk down the aisle. That's what he wants too.
  • Nope, DH didn't want to see it and I didn't want him to see it either.
  • DH did not want to see it and I was completely fine with that.

  • My FI didn't want to see it, and then it was at our house, and he started being tempted.  It is now living at my parent's house until the wedding, and the first time he sees it, it will be when I am walking down the aisle to him:)

  • Oops!  Reading comprehension fail.  I voted yes, but I didn't realize it was "you in the dress" until it was too late.

H saw my dress before the wedding, but didn't see me in it until that day.  I didn't have an opinion on if he saw me in it before the wedding or not.  That was his decision :)
  • I'm not sure how to vote, because while he didn't want to see it before the wedding day, we did first look pictures, so he saw it before the ceremony.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • He won't be seeing the dress at all untill the wedding day. But we will be doing first look pictures before the actual ceremony.
  • He saw my dress by mistake while looking at pictures in my phone, but won't see me until the first look before the ceremony.

  • I offered to let him see the dress, and/or me in it, but he didn't want to.  So I would have 'let' him, but I still voted no.

  • I asked him if he wanted to see me before in the dress, he's very much against it. He wants to have that moment when I walk down the aisle.

  • He absolutely insisted on not seeing me in the dress until I walk down the aisle.  I agreed :)

  • He's very adamant about not wanting to see it!
In fact, he doesn't even want me to go tux shopping with him, so I won't know exactly what he'll be wearing either.  I know a black tux is a black tux, but he wants a little element of surprise in there for me too!

  • There's really no "letting." He doesn't want to see it, and I respect his choice.
  • Nope I don't want him to see me until I'm walking down the aisle.  Our photographer tried to talk us into do the pictures before the ceremony and I was adamently oppossed, my fiance almost gave in but I said NO!!!  That is something I have always dreamt of my fiances face as I'm walking down the aisle, I like the element of surprise.  Also noone else will see my dress either except my bridemaids, my mom, and she already showed my dad so him too!!!! ;)

  • My DH saw me try on the dress I ordered before I ordered it. It was 4 sizes too big and needed serious clipping so it didn't fall off me when I walked out of the room. I didn't care if he saw it or not. He actually knew that I was going to pick the dress I did before I actually picked it.

  • I voted no.  But I can't tell if you mean before your wedding day or before the ceremony.
  • Yes, we will be doing photos before and will be going to the chapel together in the limo.

He won't be seeing me until I'm fully ready though.

  • My man doesn't want to see it at all. He did how ever get a look at it when I was have dress issues and had to return it to the bridal salon... but I'm not gonna lie its ugly on the hanger haha.

  • Like most PP, I am not letting my fiance see me before the wedding in the dress.  I'm actually not telling him anything about the dress at all...he asked me if it was strapless and I wouldn't even answer that! lol

  • No he's not seeing it. My family is more traditional so it was assumed he wouldn't see it. I thought about showing him a pic, but not letting him know anything about the dress has gotten FI pretty excited to see me in it on our wedding day. Anytime someone asks about the dress in front of him he covers his ears or leaves the room! I think it's cute.

  • We will do a first look. It will be way easier for us. And maybe I will be less emotional if I get some of it out before the wedding. :)

  • Yes - mom, bf, and the future mr. brit have seen the dress.
  • Since we will enter the ceremony site (outdoor terrace) together, then yes, he'll see me prior to the wedding in my dress ... but not much more than 15 - 20 minutes before we enter.  We're not doing a "first look" photo session.
