Bringing mismatched bridesmaid dresses together

I have 2 bridesmaids and I'm having them each buy a cute knee lenght black dress for the wedding. Any good ideas on bringing them together? We talked about tieing a ribbon around their waist, but I was curious is there were any better ideas out there?

  • I thinking matching shoes and jewelry will do the trick. Also if you have similiar/the same flowers for them I think everything will look coordinated.

  • I am letting all 4 bridesmaids pick their dress, but all are wearing black strapless and (around) knee-length, so they are not identical, but they are similar. They will all have matching flowers and matching accessories.
  • The fact that they are both black will tie them together.   And matching bouquets would be nice.  I woudln't worry about a sash or ribbon or whatever (not all dresses will work with a sash).  Presumably they will both be wearing black shoes as well (though they absolutely do not need to be the same shoes), and the jewelry doesn't need to match either (nobody will notice or care what jewelry your bridesmaids are wearing).

  • Ditto Avion.  Let them show their individuality in their shoes and jewelry.  The bouquets will bring them together.
  • They will definitely ned to accesorize. Lots of guests wear black dresses to weddings you don't want them to blend in.
  • I disagree with TLC. My sister's wedding was black and white. All the bridesmaids were in the same black satin dress. No one else was wearing black cocktail dresses besides us. It looked awesome and we all stood out.

Others are right, just the black dresses will tie them together, especially since you want them to be the same length. Let them wear how much or how little jewelry they want.
