Wearing veil throughout the day - yay or nay?

Is anyone wearing their veil for ceremony and reception. i want to because it's short and pretty chic. I am attaching a pic.

but i wanted to see if this was something that was common or if it's something that's kind of weird.

Re: Wearing veil throughout the day - yay or nay?

  • I wasn't planning on having one at all.  Then I decided to go for it, but I only wanted one that was in the back, and I was only going to wear it for pictures and the ceremony.  I ended up wearing it all day.  I figured I'd never be able to wear it again so I might as well go for it.  Mine was on a comb that went in at the back of my head under my updo.
  • I want to wear mine all day, but it depends on if its windy or not since our wedding will all be outside :)

  • Its totally fine to wear the veil all day if that's what you want.  I left mine in, partly because I wanted to, but also because I was sure I'd ruin my hairstyle if I tried to remove it.

If you think you may want to remove it after the ceremony, just make sure to let your hairdresser know so she can attach it accordingly.  Otherwise just leave it in and enjoy it!  Like DramaGeek said you only get to wear it once.  :)

  • I'm planning on wearing mine the whole day, but it all depends how annoying it will get when people tug on it while trying to give hugs. This happened al night with my friend so she took it out half-way through the reception.
  • I think I'll try to take mine off for the reception as long as the hairstyle will allow it too.
  • I took mine out after our formal pictures and put some orange orchids in my hair.  Of course, mine was cathedral length, so I didn't really have a choice :)

I like that veil--will it be over your face the whole time?
  • I wore mine the entire day. It was way too expensive not to get use out of it. It was on the top of my head during the ceremony and moved to the back of my head during the reception.
  • I'm only wearing mine for the ceremony and formal pictures afterwards (despite the cost, ugh). It has a lace edge and is verrrry heavy. I have a crystal and feather fascinator to wear for our first look and reception. It's completely personal preference.
  • I wore mine the whole day.  The way it is in my siggy is how I wore it the whole day.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
  • I'm planning to take mine off after the first dance.  I think it will end up annoying me if I leave it on all night.
