Heirloom dress cleaning - recommendations?

Hi,

Has anyone out there gotten an heirloom/antique dress cleaned in the area? I need to clean a lace dress that has been in my family for almost 200 years and obviously want someone who knows what they are doing.

Any help is appreciated.

If you have a history museum in your area, maybe contact them about who they use for fabric restoration and things like that? Also check your local board.

If you are in the DC area, highly recommend Imperial Gown Preservation in Silver Spring, MD

Very experienced and they do the preservation & cleaning of the Smithsonian Museum garments.  They'll do a professional job for you
