champagne, pewter, and liliac??

Hey ladies! I'm wearing a champagne evening gown by BCBG, and I was thinking this dress -  http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Feature_Assortment/NewArrivals/dresses/PRDOVR~23480/23480.jsp - for my ladies. I want them to be able to order whichever color they want, but it only comes in pewter and lilac! I'm not doing set wedding colors, but I don't want things to clash horribly. What do you think? Would these colors look ok with a champagne dress??
Thanks for the help!

Pretty Pretty....I don't think those colors will clash at all. Champagne and Pewter are both neutral....the lilac is a nice added touch of color!  Kudos to you for letting the girls pick their own color. You could tie in the jewlery or a sash....to keep things a bit more uniform. Smile

  • i love this idea, I think the color pallette will be soft and romantic, with a lot of sophistication,
  • Definitely a gorgeous palette!

  • That sounds really nice! Champagne and pewter would give a sort of gold-and-silver appearance. Lilac would add some non-neutral colour to it and give it a softer look overall. Any way you do it these are gorgeous.
  • I think those colors create a beautiful color story. However, if they end up making you choose (as in my experience, some bridesmaids actually do want to be told what to do), I'd pick the pewter because it will be more rewearable. You can add a pop of color with acessories and the bouquets.
  • I went with Champagne silk taffeta for my bridesmaid dresses at JCrew. Contact them and ask for swatches of all colors and fabrics you are considering- they will send free of charge. The pewter is less grey and more silvery, fyi.

Thank you ladies! No one ended up wanting the lilac dress anyway, so pewter it is! I think it will be beautiful with my champagne dress. I can't wait (14 more days!)
