Question about dresses, plz help :)

Hi everyone! 

I've never posted here but I'm really hoping to get some feedback from other soon-to-be-brides. My girls and I have decided that they can pick out the style of dress they like individually, so everyone can feel comfortable in a dress they really like. They will just all need to be the same color.

My question is, I really wanted my Maid of Honor to stand out in some way. I was going to put her in a different style of dress than the bridesmaids but that's not going to work now. Does anyone have any ideas on something I can do to make her stand out from the other girls as the Maid of Honor?

Make her bouquet a little different. Either larger or add an accent flower/color.

You can also add a brooch or sash to her dress.

A different bouquet is my favorite option. I'm not a huge fan of most sashes.


My BMs had different dresses, but MOHs dress stood out a little more because of the black lace neckline. Idk what styles your BMs have chosen, but this worked for us. (They are a really dark navy, btw. Mom's camera made them look purple.)

I see alot of people now put the MOH in a long dress or if your have 2 colors (which most brides do) she is in one and the others are in another.

I've heard of other ladies suggest fabric too.  My ladies are picking their own dresses but I told them they all had to be the same color and fabric (satin) because sometimes the color tones look different depending on fabric.... so... long story short- some people suggested all my ladies wear satin and my MOH wear chiffon or something.  My MOH decided she didn't want to stand out so she's just going to stand next to me and everyone will know she's my MOH. 


The other thing you could do depending on your style is do something different with her jewlery depending on how blingie it is....

I have two maid of honour, my BMs have pink sashes and my MOH have ivory, over a light pink dress..

I suggest putting a brooch on her dress, it'll definitely pop out, or a sash is becoming a popular option too.  Ask her what she would prefer.

MOH can have a bigger & different bouquet. They can also use a different color ribbon for her bouquet. We are doing both for mine. She is also the only one of my Girls who will be wearing a Flower in her hair.
