Printed Bridesmaid Dresses? Opinions please

Hey ladies - My colors are Navy blue and purple, I'm up in the air about printed bridesmaid dresses.  I want my girls to have a dress that they could wear again to a formal occasion if they choose - without looking like a bridesmaid lol.  This is the dress I'm considering (love the grecian look to it)...opinions please :)

For reference, this is my dress:

Ok weird - I tried posting this on the attire and accessories board, but somehow it ended up here - I know I asked this on here a few months ago - if any of you ladies would like to share an opinion I'd be happy to hear it.

Steph - anyway you can move this to the Attire and Accessories board?  Its not allowing me to delete it for some reason.

I love that dress!  It is a really lovely print, and would look perfect with your wedding colors.  It will also be such a great contrast with a wedding gown.  People rarely do print bridesmaid dresses, so I think it will be both beautiful and dramatic.  My vote--do it.

If all of your BMs are tall and skinny, I think its a great idea. It would look like a tie-dye mumu on me (short and round). So I guess it depends on what your BMs look like. I do like the idea of a pattern, though.

  • I think it's gorgeous! Go for it, but probably choose a simple boquet for them to carry.

  • I agree that it'd be overwhelming on us short gals.  I love the idea, but that that dress.
  • I agree with pp - great dress as long as all of  your BMs have the bodies to pull it off.  Simple bouquets too.  Neat idea!

  • I agree- as long as everyone is tall and skinny, it would be great. And I'd do small bouqets of all one flower of the same color.
  • I don't think everyone has to be tall and skinny, but super short might not work.  Great dress!

  • Um...I think they're nice dresses...but I worry about what the pictures will look like.  I've seen some print dress look fabulous, but I've also seen some that make you say, "Oh God...what were you thinking?!"  How do your BM feel about it?

  • As a PP said, you'll probably want a very simple bouquet.  My dresses are a mix of different purples, so my florist is going to give them bouquets that are as monochromatic as possible.

I think yellow or lavender flowers would look beautiful with that dress.

Don't count on your BMs wearing it again, though.  They might, but that bold a print isn't everyone's style.
