Allure c155 gown question.

Hey girls,
I am getting married in July 7, 2012....Just ordered my dress from a bridal shop and I got the c155 allure gown.  I am excited...But at the same time, buyer's remorse is hitting me, I keep thinking I should have tried on more dresses--- eek.  Anyway.  Two questions,

I just wanted to see if anyone had pics of REAL brides in this dress.  None of this model nonsense.  I want to know what it looks like on a wedding day (maybe to appease me or something, I don't know. ha).

Second, I'm no seamstress and have absolutely no imagination -- But for any of you, do you see potential in possibly being able to alter the top of the dress so that it's more open?

Not cleavage wise, just showing the upper chest more, not having it so closed-looking.  I'm having a summer wedding and I feel like it doesn't look summer enough up there.

Anyway, if anyone could help me out, with either question that would be so lovely!!  I am Amy by the way.

Thanks :)

Re: Allure c155 gown question.

  • OP what a stunning dress!  Many brides question their choice after purchasing their dress whether they tried on only a couple or many.  It's completely normal to feel this way since there's thousands of dresses out there.  What were the reasons you chose this one?  Answering this might help you realize you made the right choice.

About alterations, you could make the front straps thinner. Here's some ideas

  • I have pics of me in it. it's ivory and I'm a size 14.

I'm on my tablet, and the photo uploader won't work. If you're interested in seeing them, PM me your e-mail address. I know I can upload them as an e-mail attachment.

It's a gorgeous dress, but I think I'm going with MS Bernadette.

  • That's my dress!!! Perfect choice?
  • Do you all think it's summery enough?  That's another dilemma I was having.  I do love it -- I am just worried I chose too soon!

  • I bought the dress and made a few alterations to it. I made the neckline a little thinner and made the keyhole back more of an open back so that it would look more summery as well. The seamstress only charged $50.00 to do it. I am going very vintage with the accessories though... I bought my shoes at http://www.bhldn.com/shop_shoes-accessories_shoes/bow-topped-slingbacks and LOVE them!! I'm sure you will look amazing... :)
  • Could you email your picture wearing the size 14 C155 allure dress. This is the dress I chose and am waiting for it to arrive. Curious how it looks on a non model bride. Would be much obliged
  • Ive been coveting this dress for two years now lol Hopefully I'll be able to wear it someday soon!

I just bought this dress yesterday at a sample sale so in love with it.  I would love to see some of the ways you guys altered yours.  I think I would to make the straps a wee bit thinner.
