Our wedding colors are Truffle and Jade (DB colors, the jade is more like an emerald green). However, my mom gave me a beautiful blue topaz necklace for my graduation, and I'd really like to wear it as my something blue. Would that look okay, even if blue isn't one of my colors?

I think that is totally fine. It might be nice to coordinate your personal jewelry around that piece too.

Your jewelry definitelly does not need to match your wedding colors, in fact, the only colored jewelry I've seen brides wear is blue.
