what hairstyle and veil with this dress?

I need help in deciding which hairstyle and veil to wear with my chosen dress.

I love birdcage veils, but I am not sure it will look right with the dress.  I would like to wear my hair half-up and perhaps put a vintage pin on one side to secure the veil.

I'm not really into the longer

veils, as they seem too traditional for me...
We are having an outdoor, civil ceremony.

Any ideas or suggestions???

  • I just can't see you as a birdcage veil person, sorry.

  • No, I'm not feeling the birdcage with that dress.

  • I voted for hair up with veil but I really meant half up, half down. That is my personal favorite hairstyle and how I wore my own hair for my wedding. IMO, it's the best of both worlds and after my BFF saw my wedding hair/veil, she decided to do hers the same way.

I love veils but I don't think a birdcage would like right. I second a regular veil but go elbow or fingertip length if you don't want a chapel length. Especially since the wedding would be outside, you probably wouldn't want a super long one anyways.

  • I would say hair up OR down with a longer veil.  SocialWorker2B has a great idea.  As for birdcage veils, I can only see them working for those more vintage lacy dresses that have a thinner silohette (not A-line like your dress), but that's just how I feel about it.
  • I like the idea of an up do but not on top of your head like a very low relaxed updo. That way you can wear the veil in ur pic and it will look more relaxed than traditional

  • I think your hair will look great up or down, but with a longer veil not the birdcage.
  • I agree that the birdcage style doesn't really work with that dress.  I think that you could still do a vintage pin with a longer veil, that's my plan at least :)

    Good luck

  • I think you should do your hair half up and half down without a veil. It doesn't sound like you really like veils (I don't either btw), so you might as well nix it. It is a civil ceremony outdoors afterall. A veil might be too stuffy for that.
  • I like the way it looks in the pix 1/2 up and down with the longer veil.  It looks great.
