Shoes

I am wearing a tea length dress (Justin Alexander 8465 in the colors in the picture) and plan to wear blue shoes as my something blue but I'm having trouble choosing a shade.
I like the idea of a bright, almost cobalt or royal blue but my bridesmaids and some of the decor will be a lighter shade, more like Tiffany blue. Would my shoes look out of place if they were the brighter blue? Having them dyed to match the BM dresses is my other option.
Thanks!

Re: Shoes

  • I think the brighter blue would look great with a lighter blue.  I wouldn't dye your shoes to match the BM dresses.

  • Just popping in to say that's my dress too!  I haven't decided what shoes I'm wearing yet but blue is definitely a color I'm considering.  I like the idea of a darker blue, that way it's not too matchy-matchy with your BM dresses.

  • Try finding shoes that you do not have to dye...some that are already either the cobalt blue or tiffany blue that you are talking about! GL :)

  • I think cobalt would be beautiful. If you use the same color as your BMs dresses, I'm afraid it could look a bit 80s.

  • i agree w/ PP.  dont dye them.  look for shoes based on style/heel height/etc.  and whatever color blue they are will be FINE.

i was OBSESSING over the "Something Blue" Manolo Blahniks....but then i got my dress....and they really dont go w/ my dress at all.  i think the style/details of the shoe are more important than the actual color.  your dress has a lot of detail...so i would go w/ something that is simple and comfortable.

my favorite site to search for shoes is shopstyle.com.  you can refine your seach by size/color.  try that!  HTH!
