Neckline and wedding dress question

Hey everyone,

I'm in love with Kenneth Poole Ginger dress.  I'm trying to find out what this type of neckline is called.  I'm looking for a similar dress because this wonderful dress costs around $5,000.  It's so simple, that i'm wondering if having it costume made would be a good idea.  Help!!!

I think draped might be a better term than cowl. Cowls usually have much more fabric.

This dress has a similar neckline, and you could add a belt, of course. There are sure to be cheaper options out there as well. I would only go with a custom job if you're attached to using silk, as you can surely find a polyester version for cheaper than you could have a seamstress make it. And be sure to use a reputable seamstress!

I saw quite a few dresses with that type of neckline when dress shopping.  Have you gone to different boutiques?  One option, if price is a concern, would be to look for bridesmaids dresses.  Many of them come in white/ivory, and I can see that style being used for a bridesmaid dress.  Good luck!

in the boutique I got my dress from they had a section that was all dresses that style. they considered it "beach" attire... but really it was just the slinky material like that. I would ask shops for that style.

I would definitely say this is more draped than a cowl neck. However, a cowl neck would make for a unique and elegant look.
