I agree with the previous post. It is SO difficult to know what something will look like on you. If you like specific elements of a dress, go into a bridal store (pictures in hand) and ask them to find you things that are similar in shape and detail. Lots of designers get "inspiration" from one another (a nice way of saying they pretty much copy one another) so you should be able to find something similar. 

No matter what, you WILL find the dress for you. And it will be perfect. And you will look beautiful!

Agree with above. I was completely head over heels for a particular Justin Alexander in all lace. That was IT, it was THE ONE, and I pretty much had blinders on to every other dress. 

When that one crashed and burned on me, I stuck to my guns- lace, mermaid or fit and flare, intricate back. Every single dress in that style looked terrible on me. I ended up buying a Sottero and Midgely chiffon sheath that I feel absolutely wonderful in and I don't have one drop of regret. 

Go shopping with an idea of pictures of what you think you want, but be open to things that you never would have thought about trying on.
