Panty Hose?!?

Is anyone else making their bridesmaids wear panty hose? The ceremony is inside a church and the dresses are knee length.  I'm just not sure

No, some chose to and some did not. They all looked great and were comfortable.

No, none of my BM's wore pantyhose. It was a hot day, they were wearing knee length dresses, we were outside, and they were wearing open toed shoes. I had treated them to pedicures the day before, so pantyhose would have negated the fact that they all had pretty polished toenails.

I am leaving it up to them, but I doubt anyone will since it is an outdoor wedding in May.

None of my BMs wore hose. It was a fairly formal ceremony and still looked lovely.

i haven't even thought of this... i guess i will leave it up to them.  omg... there are soooo many things i haven't thought about yet..yikes!

Panty hose can actually HELP to keep your legs dry if it's hot outside... but even though I'm in July, I am not telling my BM's whether or not to wear hose... some shoes are impossible to keep on with panty hose on, and since I let them choose their own shoes (gasp!), I wouldn't feel right saying "wear panty hose." 

That's just me ... some people really like the uniformity of all Bm's in panty hose.  Thigh-highs are an option too, with short dresses.

I haven't worn panty hose since I was a kid and I wouldn't want anyone "making" me wear them, so no...I'm not making my girls wear any.

I am also going to let my bridesmaids choose whether or not they want to wear pantyhose...I personally hate them so I would never tell anyone they had to wear something that I wouldn't want to wear....

on another note...are any brides wearing pantyhose? I told my mother that I wasn't going to and she was almost disgusted...but she's a pantyhose wearing kinda lady so I get why she thinks I'm a weirdo!

This is very funny to me!  I am a MOB...married 33 years ago....I wore "knee-hi's" back then and my mother almost stroked out about it!

I have had this conversation many times with my peers.  It seems like such an oxymoron to us to wear formal or evening wear and yet not wear hose.  I am sure that neither my daughter nor any of her BM's will be wearing hose, even with short dresses.  They are trying to convince me to go without as well.  That's not going to happen; not so much because of bare legs....moreso because of feeling a little naked under the dress and fearing upwinds!

  The thought never even crossed my mind to make them wear pantyhose....probably because I have to wear them everyday to work except in May and September...........there is no way on this planet, I'd ask anyone to wear them or would I wear them if I have the option not to

Thanks all!  I am having a formal wedding in a chapel so I wasn't sure.  I'll just let them choose:)  There's going to be a million other things on my mind that day anyways:)

My wedding is in a church and is formal, and it never crossed my mind to wear pantyhose, or to ask my bridesmaids to wear them... I'm pretty sure all of my friends hate them.

I think it will be okay!
