To dye or not to dye....

I have highlighted my hair before, but it has been a few years since I have done it. I have let my natural hair color grow in and it isn't horrible, it is a lighter brown. I don't know whether I should get some subtle highlights put in before the wedding to jazz up my hair or just leave it the way it is. What are other people doing or what are your opinions on what I should do?

Re: To dye or not to dye....

  • I think this is really a personal question. And should you decide to go ahead, I would make sure you use a hairdresser you trust. If you have one, have you tried going and talking to them?

Judging how you are only over a month away, now is definitely not the time to be brave & bold and go with something you have never done. If you decide to dye your hair, I would probably get it done soon and then get it touched up or re-done a week or two before your wedding.
  • I am getting married in a year and have been out of the dye habit for a while too.

As long as you have a couple months I would suggest going in and doing what you want colorwise now, so you have time to adjust and touch up before the wedding.

  • yes I would do it well in advance and make sure you love it, take before and after pics, do a hair trial before hightlights and after, see what looks better on you and in photos. for instance I have highlights now, but will cover them for my wedding so that in photos my hair looks dark and rich. since the highlights make my hair look to warm in some light
