Bridesmaids Dresses

On the chance of sounding stupid, I have a silly question. When looking for a bridesmaids dress, is it custom to take a day and bring all the girls with you to look for one? Or do most brides on here pick one and then send the girls the one they chose. I had originally planned on going on a girls day and going to all look together and see what looks best on people..although I do have an idea of what I want as far as length and obviously color...what do you girls think?

It depends on you and your BMs.  The first thing I would do is talk to them about their budget.  Once you have that established, you can try to determine if everyone has time to get together, or not.  But, don't pick out anything until you talk budget.

We were all really spread out, so I went shopping with MoH to get ideas (I kept going back and forth on color choice) and then I just told the other girls what we had decided.  I didn't make many requirements, so I didn't feel like I needed everyone's approval before setting the guidelines.

First, my co-Maids of Honor and I spent a morning looking at dresses online to talk about styles and colors to make sure we were all on the same page (what I liked and what they liked) -- and this was, of course, after the budget talk and some research into which lines were in their price range.

Then I went with both of them to try on a couple.  Then I picked and sent it out to everybody.  I would have loved to schedule a day with all of us to go try them on, but my bridesmaids are all in Australia, so that was never going to happen!
