Success removing tulle?

I bought my dress in January and am counting down until I finally get to see it (three weeks to go!) when I'll start my first fitting. When I bought the dress I was told that we could de-poof it a bit by having some layers of tulle removed. I'm not all that concerned as I trust my salon's alterations department completely, but I've worked myself into a ball of nerves about it. Did you or someone you know successfully do this? I'd love a success story of reassurance.

Re: Success removing tulle?

  • I didn't do it to my wedding dress but have done it to other gowns in the past.  It's pretty straightforward, don't fret!  And if you hate it you can always reattach it or add more.
  • I haven't done it yet, but I am thinking about it too... my stores seamstress said it is super easy an one of the most frequently change made
