I know foundations can make or break the dress -- so I'm wondering if you've already purchased your items -- what company you went with.  I, by no means, want to get too personal here -- but I'm thinking of going with a corset -- strapless -- something that sucks in at the waste and lifts slightly....TIA

My dress was an A-line with a ton of boning in the bodice so no undergarments were going to make or break that dress.  I only wore spanx under my dress because it was hot and I didn't want my thighs chafing.  I had cups sewn into the bust of my dress so I didn't need a bra.

I'm just going with a cute pair of "Bride" undies... that said, we're having a DW so I want to wear as few layers as possible and my dress has a corset back so no need for a garment underneath to zip it in or hoist 'em up ;-)

I know all of my friends went with Assets (Target) because it's cheaper than Spanx. They don't have corsets, but they do have shaping short/panty things that come up to just under the bustline. JC Penny has a great selection that you can try on to see if it works for you.

It really all depends on the style of your dress.  My dress had a nicely built top so that no additional bra or bra cups were needed...all I wore were a pair of blue panties.

My one tip, make sure that whatever you wear under your dress is comfortable and not constricting because you will be in that outfit the entire day...you definitely do not want to be pulling and picking at your dress/under garments all night long.
