Bridesmaid dresses and colour

OH, ushers and many of our guests are all going to be wearing their No.1s to the wedding - OH is in the armed forces and we both come from big military families
(our brothers, our sisters, our dads, uncles, cousins, friends - not being puts me in the minorty)
But it does mean that his party (as well as many guests) will be nice rainbow of British armed forces shades of blue (and one in white). (RAf,Army,Navy and RM)

So do I put the bridesmaids in different shades of blue to fit in with the BestMan and Ushers or is that just too much blue for anyone? and do I pick a colour that goes and stick the bridesmaids in that?

(haven't decided on flowers or anything yet)

Re: Bridesmaid dresses and colour

  • What about champagne for the bridesmaids? It is neutral so goes with all the other colors. Also, it is very in now, if you look at any red carpets. Google champagne wedding party pictures and you'll see how soft and feminine it looks.

<div>does this sound picky? but bridesmaids are all children and kids get messy (which will happen anyway), so wonder if it would be better to get a stronger colour?</div><div>But I do like Champagne as a colour soo...</div>
  • I would just pick a dark blue, if blue is in your colors, or black. (Little black dresses always look chic and classy) . I think a hodge podge of blues could look messy with the hodge podge of uniforms.
  • Love tihs idea!  I did different shades of gray dresses for my girls.:) http://happinessiscreating.com/my-wedding/

  • Personally, I don't like to see young children in black.  If you don't care to put the girls in a pale color like champagne because of the possible mess, perhaps a brighter color like pink or green?  Really, anything will go with a uniform, and since the bridesmaids are children, I don't see any reason why they should coordinate.
  • right then brighter colour it is

just got to pick one now
