Can't Find a Dress :o(

My wedding is over a year away and I have started my search for the perfect dress. I have been to 6 different dress shops and tried on several dresses at each and NOTHING seems to be just right. I am waiting for that a-ha moment, but it never happens. I know I have time, but I have heard horror stories about dresses taking forever to come in and getting there just in time. I would like to have time for alterations and bridal portraits.
My main problem is that I found a dress online and fell in love with it. In addition to the dress being discontinued, all the shops that have a sample left are out of state. I am willing to get another dress, but just have to find one that outshines the one I cant get.
I am looking for a princess or a-line dress with a lace keyhole back. Seems like most keyholes are form fitted....
And doesn't help that 90% of ALL gowns are strapless! Since when is this so overwhelmingly popular that it takes over the industry??

As for hiring a seamstress, I have thought of it and if worse comes to worst I will probably do that.

Did you know that Casablanca will make any change to one of their wedding gowns for a charge? The higher neckline in Casablanca 2076 is removeable, and you can ask them to make a deeper sweethart neckline for a cost.

Just wanted to throw that out there! :) Casablanca is known for their customization and beautiful gowns.

Edited to add: They will also add removeable (or non-removeable) cap sleeves similar to the picture you posted above as well. Good luck!

What size wedding dress are you looking for? I got married in a beautiful dress called Ambrosia by the designer Maggie Sottero. I don't know if you've heard of her. Look up the dress online. It is a lace up back. Princess dress with a drop waist. It has a sweatheard neck line and fits the upper body nicley. I am actually selling mine. The dress is beautiful and has alot of detail. I know alot of people were in love with my dress. I love it so much, but figured why waist its beauty sitting in my closet. So i took alot of pictures so i can remember it and am now putting it on to sell.
I have pictures i can also send you if you would like.

i agree with PP.  a lot of alternate necklines are coming back in style. you may find more and more of them in a few months. Spring 2013 styles should start sneek peeking around Sept/Oct/Nov

also, some strapless dresses can be altered to have a lace shrug attached, to create that neckline that you posted

Not that I'm a sewing expert, but it seems like the look you're going for could be accomplished by purchasing a strapless sweetheart gown and adding lace cap sleeves and some lace in the back.  That whole lace upper part just looks like it could be added on.  Like I said, I'm no expert, but it might be worth looking for a dress you really love and then making adjustments to it.
