1st wedding dress session???

OK, I'm going for my first session of trying on dresses and I'm nervous! What if I look terrible in all of them? Anyone else have the same fear?

    Not everything is going to look good on you.   I've seen dresses look just as bad on my size 4 bff as they do on me, a size 12.  If you don't have a specific type of dress in mind (or even if you do!), try on lots of different silhouettes so you get an idea of which ones look fantastic.

    Don't worry, I'm sure you will find something that looks amazing, but don't be discouraged if it takes time, either.  GL!

    Take an honest look at yourself - what part of your body do you really have 'issues' with? Tell that to your bridal shop - i.e. hips, tummy, thighs, breast (big or small), arms, etc. They will then help you select (and should explain why) certain styles that make you feel more confident about that area.

    Just go in with an open mind....knowing that what you might have thought you wanted may not look good and what you thought would look awful may look fantastic! There will defintiely be something out there for you and you may even be surprised by how many different dresses there are that you like on yourself. :) Good luck!

    Yes, I have that same fear and I feel your pain!!  I am going dress shopping for the 1st time tomorrow and I am so nervous!  I've put it off as long as I can (wedding in 6 months).  I *think* i know what I want bc I'm having a beach wedding, so the majority of the dresses I have picked out are flowy/empire waist/chiffon etc. I am only 4'9" and I'm terrified I'm gonna look like a hobbit in a wedding dress!!!  This isn't my 1st marriage and I'm probably older than alot of you young things (43), but it is my 1st time to actually wear a real wedding dress and I'm totally excited about the thought of it, just very anxious about how my stumpy body will look in one!!
