The sample I tried on was snug, so I ordered the next size up, not wanting to pressure myself if I couldn't lose the weight. Well, I lost 30 pounds.
I've had 2 fittings and the dress is still loose. At my first fitting, they pinned the entire dress, but at the 2nd, they had only taken in the bust, and the pins were no longer in the dress. When I requested the rest to be taken in, I was told it would cost more. I immediately said that the work was included in my original quote and it was never done, at which point the owner reassured me I would not be charged.
The dress is really pretty on, but I can still grab handfuls of material around my hips. I don't want it to be skin tight or anything, but all the extra material forms bulgy wrinkles and make it heavy and feels like it's hanging from the bust, which makes me want to keep pulling it up.
I spoke with the owner and expressed my concerns. I'm going back in 2 weeks when they complete the most recent work added, and to make sure we are on the same page. The work they have done has been good quality, and i'm paying quite a bit so I would like to be able to keep with them for the alterations.
Is there anything I can say to the seamstress that would be helpful in this situation? I'm really not sure what their issue is. They pinned it up at my first fitting just fine, I would think if it was a matter of they CAN'T do, they would have said something then.
Here is a link to my photobucket. The first 6 are the dress currently and the last ones are the dress that was a bit small. I know it looks alright, but you can definitely see where it is too big and could fit me better. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
