Then I found turoise boots that would look great with brown dresses and me and the groom both like that together. My thing is will it match fall colors like the yellows and oranged and reds or should i do brown dresses and stick with yellows, oranges, reds. Honeslty, unless all of your BMs already own those boots and really want to wear them with formal dresses, I would let them pick their own shoes.  No one cares what the BMs are wearing on their feet.  And if you require a specific shoe, you have to pay for them.
  • Why are you so stuck on brown dresses?  If you are going with a fall color scheme you have a variety of colors to choose from.  You could pick almost any fall color and it will go, like dark purple, red, yellow, even a dark blue.  Or you could just go with a black dress and have the flowers be the pop of color.

As for the foot wear.  I agree with cmgilpin, just let your BMs pick their own shoes.  Just pick a neutral color, like silver, gold, nude, or black and leave it at that.

  • If you stick with the brown, yes the turquoise would match, but boots make the look a little more casual as compared to formal-- so it could all very depend on the style of your wedding.  Boots would look cute with a summer dress, but not so much a bridesmaid dress, IMO.

The whole if you require a special shoe you should pay for it comes into effect too.  I was in many, many weddings and had to buy a dress and shoe--neither of which I ever minded--but every shoe was also something I could wear again; so while I am now a fan of letting bridesmaids pick their own shoe in a certain style (my girls are still trying to get me to say "buy this shoe", haha) if your circle of friends is used to and OK to buy a shoe, at least make sure its something they all like and can use again--turquoise boots in my opinion would not get much use after the fact so that is waste of your money (and potentially there's).  Make it easy on yourself and them and just have them pick their shoes!
