Casual wedding, what should we have the officiant wear?

We are having a pretty laid back wedding. I'm just having the guys wear dress pants, a long sleeve shirt and a tie. We are having one of our male friends be the officiant so he is kind of like part of the wedding party. What should we have him wear? The same thing as the rest of the guys? Or what could I do to make him slightly different?

  • I think dress pants, long sleeved shirt, and tie in the colors of his choosing are fine.  He doesn't have to match the rest of the wedding party.

  • Agreed, your officiant can dress in the same vibe as the wedding party without matching.  He'd also look fine in a suit, or his official robes if that is something he would wear.  Might look a little out of place in a tuxedo if everyone else is more casual but I think pretty much anything else would work.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Same thing
