question for cooks

so I am planning to make the mac and cheese recipe that Mouse suggested last time for my book club. I generally only have 30 minutes between getting home and girls showing up so should Ia. make it and cook it tonight and warm it up tomorrow.b. prepare it to the point of putting it in the oven tonight, throw it in the fridge and cook it when I get home.c. say eff it and order pizza.If a or b will I have to add to the baking time since I am doubling?

B. I don't think it will add any additional time.I also think you should ship some of it to the east coast.

I pick C.  My second choice would be B, and I don't think I'd add to the baking time.  If at all, maybe add 10 minutes or so.

I say b. Reheated mac and cheese is never as good. You'll want to pull it out and let it get close to room temp before cooking it though or you can set it in the oven while it preheats and it will warm up slowly with the oven.

b it is. I can have my dog walker pull it out of the fridge in the late afternoon and then cook it when I get home.

I agree b, except I'd put the bread crumb mixture on right before baking so they stay crisp.  Are you using two 2-quart dishes?  If you are using one big pan, it may take longer.  It may take a little longer anyway since the origanl version goes into the oven already hot.

I was going to use one bigger dish, but it is more wide than deep.

Mouse I will probably do a couple of shortcuts and use a different pasta, but I will let you know
