love/hate Chipotle chips

love to use their chips to eat my burritobowl, hate what they do to my mouth.  I have had a pointy chip stuck up so deep in my palatte before that I had to grip and pull it out using force and it left a rather large wound.  Now I have a piece o' chip stuck back in one of my old wisdom-tooth holes and it hurts so freaking bad.  Tried digging it out w. a snapped-off toothpick and now I'm bleeding and it's still in there.ouchie.  this might be the straw that broke Chipotle chip's back.

  • Ouch.  I think at least 14% of the blame should go to the dentist who left you with holes.

  • how hard is chewing? really?
  • Come on adora- tasty isn't a nazi so they stole her teeth when she was young. She tries to gum them but it doesn't always work. Why you gotta point that out? You are mean. Just mean.
  • Fallin, there's nothing my dentist can do except do skin grafting back there and I'm just not ready for that (he's referred me to an oral surgeon to have this done).  They were literally sideways in my mouth and I had them out at the age of 28, so there was just no way they could heal completely.

  • adora, I think only a blender would smooth out Chipotle chips enough to not be so rough.  they are hard core.

  • just because people are makign real jokes with Nazi references doesn't mean putting the word Nazi in something nonsensical turns it funny.
  • Wow that sound awful.  I had a skin graft on my gum last summer and while it sounded awful it was a short outpatient surgery and I was pretty much healed in a week.

  • it was pretty traumatic, NQB.  I developed dry sockets in all of them because the holes were too big and had to go to the surgeon 1X/day for three weeks to have him stuff guaze in them.  I accidentally lost like 20 pounds right before my wedding and my stupid dress barely even stayed on and I looked too skinny.  oh well.

  • I've had a skin graft on my gum, also, but it was pretty awful. Also, I get irrationally angry when I stab the roof of my mouth with a sharp pointy chip.  Not quite as angry as when I bite down really hard accidentally on my lip/cheek/tongue, but almost
  • Oh God.  I have been putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for a while and now I'm even more scared.

  • Yeah that's what they said.  I haven't had any pain thankfully but they're worried about crowding.  I am gonna do it before January when things get busy at work.

  • Ugh!  Tasty, that just made my muscles tense up.  We're late removal of wisdom teeth twinsies.  I was probably 27-28. The sadistic bastard that removed them gave me nothing more than shots in my gums.  He was pulling with his knee in my chest and stopped to yell at me because I was wincing too much.  He threatened to stop and make me come back at another time to be put fully under.I have not been to a dentist since then.  My teeth will probably rot out of my head soon, but I do not want to go back, EVER.
  • Holy crap Vinny!I'm glad I got mine out in high school.  However, I wish I had them taken out immediately after I had my braces off so they didn't have time to crowd my mouth and eff up the 3 1/2 years' worth of torture I had endured to get them straight.  I will forever be bitter
  • are they impacted, NQB?  if it helps, my oral surgeon said I had the worst "case" he's seen.  'Course, he was pretty young.  But still.

  • oh yeah, I forgot to copy thisHe threatened to stop and make me come back at another time to be put fully under.I think that's an offer I wouldn't have refused, if I were you
  • Oh God. I have been putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for a while and now I'm even more scared. I went to an oral surgeon and was put under.  Other than throwing up once from the anethesia, I had no problems at all.  I tool ibuprofen for a couple of day and ate normally the next day.  I was, though, 18, so that may be all the difference.

  • HOLY TOAST, VINNY.my surgeon gave me gas to loosen me up enough for the IV which put me completely out.  next thing I knew, I was awake with a mouth full o' gauze and flipping my mother the bird.also, I was on a very steady stream of vicodin for about 3-4 weeks.  that time period is such a freaking blur to me.  I decided to do it before the wedding because I kept having problems with infections back there and didn't want to have an emergency in the Dominican Republic.

  • Yes they are impacted but I have a big mouth (haha).  My dentist told me not to come back for my annual checkup until they were out and that was a few months ago.

  • I'm riding in Shamwow's gokart. Same effin' thing. I hate my teeth now. Vinny, even though I liked my dentist before then I had to switch because I couldn't even get in the waiting room without getting the sweats and shakes. And mine wasn't nearly that bad, just long and bloody with no gas.

  • Fallin, it makes a big diff how old you are and where they are in your mouth.  my mouth was so small that the top part of the tooth (sideways) was under the jaw bone.  my surgeon warned me that I might wake up with a broken jaw.  I was shiitting in my pants, but luckily it didn't come to that.
    image
  • Mine were not impacted, just to keep from effing up the braces' work.  That probably makes a difference too
    image
  • Oh yeah!  He didn't even give me vicodin.  He gave me whatever is the one step up from over the counter Tylenol.I didn't want to come back at another time because he was half way through.  I knew if I left, I probably would not make that appointment.
  • I got the T3 after, complained and got percoset. I'm aggressive about pain management. But yeah, no gas, just the shot, he had to break the teeth and the numbing started to wear off twice before he was done. Never again, anything more than a filling and I'm going under.

  • I've been putting it off too.  I heard that being on BCP pretty much guarantees that you'll get dry sockets, and I just don't want to go there.  I'm hoping I'll just never need to have them out.

  • Geez Mouse.  Did we go to the same place?  I had never been to this guy before (my avoidance of the dentist is not a new thing).  The place I went before would give you gas for anything.  I just assumed that was standard practice, especially for tooth pulling.
  • I still have mine. Meh. I've never (knock on wood) had problems and my parents still both have theirs. Oh well, no biggie. I went through enough teeth hell as a child, I figure.

  • I had mine pulled out about 7 years ago. Everything was okay until I got in a fight at my job about 5 days later and the dude punched me in the face and split open the stitches. So that made the healing time a little bit longer and that side didn't really heal correctly.
  • I've never had gas before and he said because of the possibility of a bad reaction it might not be worth it. I really wish I'd taken the chance.

  • I had never had gas before either, but I was nervous about getting an IV.  The surgeon didn't even think twice and gave me the gas. my H still has his wisdom teeth.  not everyone needs to lose them, just those that get infections (me), crowd other teeth, etc.
