My co-worker Sandy just got a call from our supervisor's wife (we work for a small company, every one knows eachother, lots of interoffice marriages, etc.). The wife asked Sandy to go around the office and ask for donations so she could buy her husband a flat screen TV for his Birthday. WTF??? The wife said she would have a small B-day party and invite a few people from our department but not everyone who is to be asked for money. We are both speechless by this, and if our supervisor knew he would be mortified! So, should Sandy just ignore the request? Should the three of us in his deparment give like $20 each? Should Sandy tell wife she is crazy and she isn't going to help her? I think she has lost her ever lovin' mind.
