Good lord that's scary!  How did that tree even get there? I'm sorry you had to see that.  It's always unnerving to see a bad wreck, let alone one that horrible.

SB, exactly. the tree is underneath inside. I mean, it was fast (they were going 80 and I was a litle farther down), but when I passed it (AND SAW DEAD PEOPLE) i just couldn't fathom.And it is being reported that they took hours to get them out because the way they were intermingled with the tree.

When I saw the bit about "investigators are still trying to figure out the cause of the crash" my first thought was "probably hitting the tree had something to do with it." There's something wrong with me. I'm sorry Winged, that must have been scary to watch.

That is pretty horrific.  I don't blame you for being shaken.  But wow, they must have been seriously flying to end up with the tree inside the car like that.

EAB, i thought they did hit another car. But I guess someone had puleld up to help them and from my angle it looked like they were on top of that car. I am thankful it wasn't the case.   I turned back around at my house two seconds to grab a spoon. I keep thinking that minute or so could have made my day completely different. Wow, that sounds melodramatic. But does anyone else do that, ponder what if?

what a horrific mess of car and tree stew.  last night during daylight hours one of our manager's 12 yo daughter got shot in a drive by in Chicago walking to the corner store for a pop or something with her cousin.  She got hit in the leg and is in stable condition but they don't know what kind of nerve damage or surgery she's going to need.  Not to hijack your post, but WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE LATELY?  anyway, let's cuddle each other for comfort.  I will use your bosoms for a pillow.

I saw your post on FB... I can't even understand how a car flips onto a tree... it doesn't make sense to me.Did anyone read the comments below the story? WTF is wrong with people?? I don't care who he is or what he did, but the guy JUST died. If you don't have anything nice to say...

I saw them too, Hezz, and I couldn't believe it.  Especially the person who claimed they were a manager at Discovery Zone.  Because that story is in any way relevant?  Egads.

I ponder the what-ifs all the time and would definitely be thanking my lucky stars I forgot that pesky spoon!A job I used to have required a review of car crashes, mostly fatal ones, and the files would include pictures of the scene and the police always take pictures before anything is altered (at least in fatal crashes), so there would be numerous pictures of dead bodies in or around cars.  I hated seeing them, but it was like I couldn't peel my eyes away.  I couldn't imagine seeing that in real life.  I'd probably throw up.  Sorry you had to witness it.

That's incredibly scary Winged. I do what if stuff all the time. I think it comes from watching Sliding Doors too many times in college. I'm glad you forgot and then remembered your spoon.
