PW: caricatures fun or lame?

How you feel about having someone drawing caricatures of your guest at the reception?

I agree with Penny.  I think if it's a casual backyard thing with lawn games and whatnot, it might be fun, but I would be concerned about how long it takes and guests missing important moments of the reception.

I'm gonna go ahead and say not wedding appropriate.  They're really fun for other events, I just feel a wedding is not one of them.

I understand your points of views. I was surfing the net and I seen some weddings who used them. I'm definitely not going for a backyard theme. I thought it would've been fun but its OFF the list. Lol I will save it for my daughter's b-day. lol Thanks. I don't what I would do w/o this board.

I think you have to know your guests really well.  I don't think that this would fit into my wedding but I can see how it could work.

One worry though would be that the drawings would take a long time and the guests would end up missing out on important moments.  I don't think it is really worth it.

I like the idea.  But I agree, it depends on the type of wedding.  I think its excellent for the kids and to help keep them busy.  If your having a more backyard type of wedding, I say go for it, if its really formal it's going to seem a bit out of place.

I wanted this soooo badly for our reception - but after thinking about logistics and checking out pricing - I'm leaning toward a big no - the money just isn't there.

I'm not really a fan of super formal wedding receptions - they make me feel uncomfortable - so I  thought a caricaturist would be sweet  to loosen ours up a bit.
