Blue- you can't make a baby if you keep using the pull and pray method, just remember that.

    and finally. YAY THANKSGIVING!

  • B's a girl after my own heart!

I want the Hawiian bread recipe.

    I am making
    Homemade mac and cheese
    Homemade bread
    Shrimp cassarole
    A prime rib
Some type of chocolare dessert and six pies
    I am bringing wine too
    Me mom is making
    a turkey
    Mashed potoatoes
    Peas
    Gravy
    Stuffing

Mt husband thinks we are making too much food lol It's only 8 people
    image
  • A turkey breast made in the slow cooker (it's just myself and H, plus our parents and my sister so like 7 people total so a huge turkey is so not needed!)
    Gravy
    mashed potatoes
stuffing (yeah we keep it classy and use the box)
MIL makes really good cranberry sauce so she will definitely be bringing that
    Crescent rolls
side salads for the veggie group
Apple and pumpkin pie ... and yes we have LOADS of leftovers! :D

And I usually go to Hickory Farms and get a cheese and crackers gift set for appetizers too.

  • Hawaiian Bread Dressing

2 loaves Hawaiian Bread (fresh, large dice)
1 small red onion, small dice
2 large bell peppers, small dice (for thanksgiving I use orange/yellow for Christmas I use green/red :)
1 medium butternut squash (peeled and small dice)
    2 garlic cloves chopped
    2T chopped fresh thyme
    2T chopped fresh sage
    1lb maple sausage (browned)
    1qt chicken stock
    8 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1/2C real maple syrup (not mrs. butterworth...the good stuff)
    3 sticks unsalted butter
kosher salt & fresh ground pepper to taste

-Brown 1 stick of butter, then sweat vegetables and herbs until slightly tender (10-12 mins) Cool and reserve
    - Whisk together egg yolks and stock.
-Brown remaining 2 sticks of butter and add maple syrup, add half with egg mixture.
-Toss bread, vegetables, sausage and egg mix until bread is soaked.
-Place into a large buttered baking dish (don't pile to the rim).  I use a roasting pan if I make the full recipe, if I make half recipe, 13X9 is a good size.
-Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 20 mins, uncover and bake for an additional 20 mins. Brush the top with remaining syrup/butter mixture and bake for 10 mins, brush again bake another 10 mins.  (you can do another round if you prefer the top to be a little more crisp, I do)

Seems like kind of an odd combination, but it's a perfect mix of savory and sweet.  When you sweat the vegetables, it will fill your house with the best smell EVER.  If I could make a candle of that smell, I swear it would be in every room of my house.
It's time consuming to make, but well worth it!

There has to be some form of marshmallow.  usually i use the mini marshmallows, but spreading marshmallow fluff over the top is ridiculously tasty as well.
