Okay I know I'm young to be married and I look young(could pass for 16-17) but really do you have to have a 5 minute conversation about how you can't imagine your 16 yo daughter getting married in 6 years?! And somewhere in the conversation you mentioned that you were 35. I just brushed it off until I was driving home and thinking wait a second, a 16 yo daughter at 35 means you were 19 when you had her. And you also have a 18 yo son. How is having kids young better than being married young and with no kids? And I'm not saying I'm better but she was so amazed that I married young and have no kids.

    So, this is my second Friday to be able to wear business casual.  Today I'm wearing a sleeveless grey dress that I bought from Ann Taylor Loft.  I've seen other people wear sleeveless dresses on days when it's not business casual, but I can't help but feel like people are judging me.  So I'm going to go run downstairs and search through some clothes that were donated to my friend's garage sale and see if I can find a sweater....but I really don't want to wear one.  It's not fair.  This dress is really pretty and I feel like I look professional, but I don't want to look like I'm taking advantage of the business casual I'm finally allowed to wear.

    Do not put on a sweater.  I am sure that it will take them a while to see you getting to dress down too.

    Mariah - Unless there is something in your dress code against sleeveless tops/dresses, I would not put a sweater on. You are within the rules and as long as nothing is being shown that shouldn't be and you don't look sloppy, you earned the priviledge of that dress by being assertive and asking for business casual.

    Julie, I've got a sweater hanging off the back of my chair.  I won't put it on unless I get cold or I'm told to do so.  :)

    I've never been one to be on the grammar police wagon, but there is one girl (on my club board, not here) where nearly every post has errors.  I read some to Chris last night and we had a laugh.

    In regards to the grammar comments:  there are a few that I cringe when I read their posts.  Whatever they write is just so hard to follow.  

    I have to be here today and that's fine.  However, I don't really have any work to do because I make the most of my time during this week every year.  I will soon put a movie on my projector and listen to it while I work on something for next year.

    I am now up 23 pounds from my comfortable weight. I have to do something. We're so tight on money so I'm not able to join WW or buy shakes/pills/supplements. I have the hardest time with food. I love it all and I have zero self control. Plus, I hate working out! I do not know what to do. My husband has gained maybe 5 pounds since the wedding, but it's weight he's needed to gain. He's 5'10" and weighs 149, only 6 pounds more than me. Today, I flame my lack of self control. UGH!

    I agree on the grammar issue, but seriously - sometimes my brain just shuts down and for the life of me I can't remember how to spell a certain word. 

    bdette - I also hate working out - for the most part.  FI and I bought bycyles - and it is SO MUCH fun.  Call me childish, but I have so much fun just riding around on my bike.  I can usually feel it in my thighs and (gross) am covered in sweat the entire time. 

    Okay, so my BM had a baby yesterday and honestly I never thought I wanted kids, but I have been with her every step of the way (whole 9 months) and yesterday when I held him for the first time - my heart completely melted.  :)

    Seriously, why wait until the day of to tell your fiance that you're having an OOT relative come stay the weekend???  My house is not guest ready and I couldn't take the day off to clean it!!

    I told my husband that I look like the wife of a young super conservative Republican today.  I've even got some pearls on.  :)  My boss did come up to me earlier (though I did have the sweater draped across my shoulders) and said she thought my dress was so cute...I'm wondering what she would have said if I hadn't have put the sweater over my shoulders...

    Bridget.  I'm not gonna lie.  You misspelled "surprised" the other day and it took everything I had not to correct you :)  LOL

    bdette, my husband weighs 150.  And I'm either always weighing about the same or more.  It sucks because he can eat whatever he wants and not gain a pound and he can work out for a week and already see results. 

    On that note, I fear getting pregnant.  His whole family is pretty lean and I don't want to look like a whale compared to them.  I also don't want to weigh like 40 pounds more than my husband when I'm 9 months pregnant or even after I have a baby.  Seriously, I really am scared of getting pregnant for that reason...more than any other reason (money, timing, etc).  I know.  I'm vain.  I can't help it.  And yes, I know I'm not ready for kids if that's my main concern.

    Marlene I am so totally with you.  I don't know what is happening.  I am working out AND walking at lunch.  And I look like a puffy marshmellow. I have missed some workouts here and there due to some commitments, but still.  I have changed my hours to 10-7 so I can work out in the morning and still walk at lunch.  Something has gotta give.

    Ben has trouble keeping weight ON.  It's so unfair.

    I flame myself for falling asleep on my couch yesterday and missing the GTG. I could've used some time out of the house and away from the boys.

    bdette- I have the same issues right now with diet/exercise. I absolutely hate working out. Sometimes I've thought of doing what Phoebe did on Friends and just run like a crazy person who is being chased down. That would make it more fun, right? I used to be ok with eating grilled chicken and salads everyday, but I just can't stomache that these days. I want dessert and good food everyday.

    I just finshed my first year as a teacher (in-service days and all)  Man was it trying but totally rewarding at the same time.  I'm so glad summer is here (just not the heat part of it Tongue out)

    Oh cherrrylll, that would be so fun to run like Phoebe! It's the best way to run.

    I hate eating all that blah good-for-you food. I like the good tasty stuff! Like today, I'm having egg rolls. I bought this package at Wal-Mart and they are to die for!

    Coming from someone who has had a baby... don't be scared!  Baby weight is the easiest weight you'll ever lose because your body wants to naturally do it.  Literally, you'll have to do a little toning up afterwards to get back into swimsuit body shape, but I promise, it's easy!  Plus, lugging around a carseat, pushing a full stroller, forgetting to eat (because you're sooo busy with a kid), chasing a toddler, etc - it's a great workout! :)  And you're never "ready" to have one!  But they're a complete blessing and so much fun!

    The weight thing bothers me too.  David used to weigh a lot more, but once he moved in with me (and away from his mom's cooking), he lost about 45 pounds in a year.  He's really pleased with himself and he works out almost daily to keep the weight off.  But I keep thinking that the more he loses, the closer he gets to weighing the same that I do, and that makes me uncomfortable. 

    I work out too because I know I need to, but I do not enjoy it at all, while he really does.  I just don't see why it's always harder for us to work out/keep the weight off, when it seems so natural for guys.  :(

    My FI is the same way, he eats massive amounts of food and will never gain an ounce where as I will look at food, or eat like like him for a single day and gain weight. It's so frustrating.

    I am scared about pregnancy weight gain as well. I think it has a lot to do with your genetics and pre-pregnancy weight and metabolism. In other words, if you are naturally thin / high metabolisim, you will most likely bounce back easier than someone that has a naturally slower metabolism and weight struggles even pre-pregnancy.

    FI's relative had twins and you could barely tell that she was pregnant and within days of their birth, she was back in a bikini, and their entire family is very slim. My family not so much.....

    I am a former distance runner and even in my prime when I was doing that, I could never get smaller than a size 4, and now I struggle to stay in the low/mid 130lbs which at 5'4 doesn't make me too happy and really wish I could be in low/mid 120lbs.

    I have the same weight issue.   My husband eats like the incredible hulk (not kidding), and while he does gain weight...he can run for a few days and lose all of it again.

    He is a good 6+ inches taller than me though, so he will never be my weight...thankfully.

    My husband also loses weight quickly. He doesn't really even have to watch what he eats as long as he works out. On the other hand I have to do both. Luckily he is a whole foot taller then me and shaped like a linebacker so we will never be close in weight. Right now he is at the lowest weight he has been in a long time and still weighs more then twice as much as I do.

    My husband can also eat whatever he wants and not gain any weight. If I ate as much as he does, I would be 3 times his size. I guess that is one reason why men don't have babies. Their frail little bodies just wouldn't be able to handle it.

    I did a class at 24 Hour on Tuesday and my arms are STILL sore.  It was so bad Wednesday night that I lost sleep over it because I couldn't bend my left arm close to me while I sleep and it kept me tossing and turning.  I'm pretty sure this is my body telling me that I can't do 20lbs on the barbell.  Taking it down to 10 next week for sure. Undecided

    I'm flaming all the news sites for showing me pictures of donuts constantly today. Not helping me! -Neither is this petite chocolate croissant on my desk.

    Mariah--I pushed myself too hard in a class once and after the class I couldn't put my arms down. They absolutely refused to hang at my sides. I looked like a marionette for the next couple days. I knew I was overdoing it, but the teacher in that class made me feel like switching to a lower weight was a cop-out and I didn't want her to judge me. I did not like that instructor.

    Selling stuff on Trash to Treasure/Wedding Classifieds is exhausting.  I've gotten like 15 shipping quotes and tons of emails.  Several people have committed to buy and not paid... so I have stuff on hold and boxed up and ready to go... grrr.

    I'm very thankful for the Dallas knotties I'm selling to.. you guys are great! :)

    I'm flaming my SIL's BF for saying he wants to beat up David and one of David's brothers.  Really?  You're a 27 year old chiropractor.  I don't think that would be good for business if your patients heard that immature crap come out of your mouth.

    Funny thing--she's a budget bride and managed to get a deal at The Mansion for her wedding and reception. Craziness, I tell ya. I can't wait to go/be in it.

    I also flame my friend for telling me about a wedding she just went to in Sonoma that sounded like crazy fun. Shuttles to casinos and vineyards and pizza trucks and Elvis impersonators. I want to go to a wedding like that.

    I'm little miss jealous today.
