What your facebook photo says about you

http://gawker.com/5669005/what-your-facebook-profile-photo-says-about-you

They definitely left a few out, but I think they covered a large majority of the facebook photos all of us see from people on our friend's list. Plus, the descriptions are hilarious.

So, a few questions:

1. Do you think these definitions are fairly accurate (aside from the fact that they are a bit exaggerated)?

2. Do you have a lot of friends that have profile pictures like these?

3. Is your profile picture one of these?

Re: What your facebook photo says about you

• Yep, I am not slutting it up anymore.

The Wedding Photo

How to Spot It: Man, woman, dress, tux—you know, the usual. Even if it's a gay wedding, you know a wedding picture when you see it.
What It Says About You: You want everyone to think that you are a grown-up. You have settled down to a life of calm normalcy and Family Guy reruns. You're not playing the field and slutting it up anymore. No, you are married! Also, you are entirely defined by your relationship and don't have any friends of your own anymore. You probably spent too much on the ceremony and your mother-in-law hates you.

• I'm usually the wedding photo or something similar. I've also been the baby picture one. And the far and away.

• 1. Do you think these definitions are fairly accurate (aside from the fact that they are a bit exaggerated)?
Not really, everyone has different reasons for putting up a picture.

2. Do you have a lot of friends that have profile pictures like these?
Yes, especially the older pics of them in the 60's-70's-80's, and a lot of wedding ones too.

3. Is your profile picture one of these?
yes, the artistic one, lol, and it's for no other reason than I'm pretty private on FB and don't need my face up there.

• I will agree about the annoying self portraits. Everybody has a few, but my sister is one of those people who spends hours every week taking pics of herself and changes to a new Fbook profile pic every day. I've suggested she'd save time by simply carrying a mirror around and staring at herself (I love her to pieces, but geez).

And while I don't have kids yet, I think that most of the time people have pictures of their kids, it's because they're proud and happy. I don't see anything wrong with that.

It's funny, I'd never given much thought to my own choice of pictures, and now I'm unsure what it says about me...
• I stopped reading when they started talking about botched LASIK causing a lazy eye. I hate it when people who write articles don't do their research. This especially goes for people who write about reality tv and use incorrect facts about past shows or contestants or stuff.

I AW a variety of wedding pictures for my profile. I think some of those definitions are probably close to being correct.

Edit- and by some I mostly mean the "party pic" because I have known many people like that.

• 1. Do you think these definitions are fairly accurate (aside from the fact that they are a bit exaggerated)?

Well, no. I'm thinking "woman without a boyfriend" isn't right. Although I don't have a boyfriend. They're fairly generalized descriptions so I suppose they could be interpreted to be accurate-ish.

2. Do you have a lot of friends that have profile pictures like these?

Most of my friends have wedding/pet/children pics. Very few have just a headshot.

3. Is your profile picture one of these?

here's mine:

analyze that ;)
• I have no wedding photo, but it is one of FI and I. I do like people to know I'm in a relationship, but that's mostly so I don't get friend requests from creepers.
• Nothing is worse than duckface pictures.

I don't know if you've ever read Gawker before, but it's not meant to be taken very seriously most of the time. Articles like this are meant to be funny, sarcastic and entertaining. Research usually isn't required for that, ya know?
• I do research before I make any sarcastic comments. Factual information makes them 30% funnier.

Also, Gawker should leave the funny, entertaining sarcasm to the folks at the Onion.

• My FB picture is the same as my TK avatar.

It says: "I like my hat."

• Mine is a picture of H and me, but not from the wedding. I didn't see that option on there. I've done Whisky before, but I wasn't single. So, no, it's not accurate. For the most part I pick a picture I look decent in or one I really like of the two of us. There's not a lot of thought behind it.

• I love the Onion.
Mine's simply a photo of me with a really awesome backgroud. You can't really see my face, but I was on an ATV trip. For my friends, that in and of itself is hysterical.
Sometimes it's a wedding photo, but J is embarrassed to have his picture up a lot. Sometimes it's a photo I like of me with my nephew, and sometimes it's my favorite one with my brother when we were little. I pull that one out at Christmas.

I knew there was a reason I laugh at your comments 30% more than any others. : )
• 1. Do you think these definitions are fairly accurate (aside from the fact that they are a bit exaggerated)?
Yeah, I think they're pretty funny actually

2. Do you have a lot of friends that have profile pictures like these?
OH YES.

3. Is your profile picture one of these?
Yeah, I have a wedding picture. I feel like you only have about a year after your wedding to put a wedding pic as your profile picture and after that it's just weirdly living in the past or something. Other than wedding pics, I always just use a regular pic of myself not too close up or far away.

• For the longest time, I had a picture of me and Pasha from SYTYCD as my profile picture, and I loved it, but then I started dating H, and I didn't want him to think that it was me and some dude I dated, so I had to change it. Sadtimes.

• I think mine says "I like Mark Rothko." Or more specifically "I like posing and smiling next to a painting by Mark Rothko."

Alternatively, "I have access to the Phoenix Art Museum."
• I don't have a MIL. I'd like to think she'd like me, if she were still alive.
J's aunt, however, thinks I'm the devil I think.

Thanks Poli. I was obsessed with him when I was little. That's kind of weird, I think. But whatever.

What's CQTM?
• My profile pic says, "Hi, I like myself, my dog, and nature."

But I definitely will AW a bunch of e-pics as my FB profile pic once we get them done.
• Ok, my last name was in my invitation to our halloween party, so I deleted it. I suck. LOL Anyway, my current FB profile pic is that invitation, which is not in that article, but those descriptions are funny as crap!
• I did a crop photo from our wedding of just me... well it was a head shot... and it was done professionally, and it's been that way for 2 years!!

No. Some of them. The party pic, Pop Culture. I've had me and my 2 cats but I'm engaged. I have pictures of me and my nephews so that one doesn't apply. The wedding photo seems a little ridiculous to me too. It was humorous, though.
2. Do you have a lot of friends that have profile pictures like these?
Almost all of them have a photo that applies.
3. Is your profile picture one of these?
The Portrait. It's just a picture that I like. Usually it's a picture of FI and me.

• I've had a total of 113 profile pictures since joining fb (years ago, mind you), YIKES! Since becoming a mom I must admitt they mostly revolve around my family/son now and when I read the description I laughed...it's funny because, yes, there is some truth to it but I'm not taking it seriously. :)
