No more school til the fall.....

I had to AW a little. Although I dropped one class this semester, I am still very proud that I got a B in the one online class and an A in the class I had at the school.
This doesn't seem like much of a deal but for me it is. I never was one to get great grades in high school and I some how manage to do so well in college. Even 8 yrs later I am just in aw about it. I am super excited to have my fall classes as well. I am retaking Excel but with the teacher I will have, I had this semester, last and 2 other times before. So I know I will be just fine. My other class will be a bit of a challenge but I am so up for it after having such an "easy" boring semester.

I am having a movie night tomorrow with a good friend and her husband, we're going to be watching all 4 of the Final Destination movies. And she and I are going to be making some yummy food as well. Then I don't know what's going on for the weekend. Tomorrow I will also find out between 1 and 3pm, what time I have to be at the hospital on Monday.

Surgery is getting so close and I'm getting more and more nervous, scared, screaming inside.

What are you wonderful ladies up to tonight? Any plans for the weekend?

Re: No more school til the fall.....

  • Well I was going to go on a field trip with the middle school SpEd classroom, but the principal asked me to stay behind and help with interviews for new teachers. Bleh. Boring.....

Then, tomorrow night there is a retirement party for a teacher at my other school. That is a pre-K-2 school, so they party hard! I'm sure I will be hungover Saturday. Yuck.

I hope to do some yard work this weekend if the weather permits. I want to clean out the greenhouse, and get ready to pot some flowers out in front of our house. I should also start a running routine again for the summer, since my ass and thighs are ballooning out of control, and I am supposed to squeeze them into a mermaid style dress in 4 months!! F.

  • Awesome job! What degree are you working on? I finished this semester Wednesday with 2 A's, 2 B's, and a C (boo! But really just glad I passed). I go back the Monday after the wedding, but its just 2 online classes for the summer - easy peasy. I was horrible in high school also and at the beginning of college, but since I've changed my major I've been pulling A's and B's in almost everything.

  • Great job! Take a break this summer, and then keep kicking ass.

  • cdavislynn- Sounds like a fun filled day. Hope you are able to get the yard done. I think it's actually suppose to rain in PA. So who knows. Our yard needs done too.

CS- I haven't gone through that and I'm sorry you are stressing so much but I hope it will be worth it once you have the house and it's all yours! My best friend just went through this process and she was stressed to no end it was very hard on her. So, I sorta know what you are going through. Keep your head up and it will all work out.

cha- Congrats To you!! That's awesome. I have to stay part time to keep my medical benefits, it's stupid but I would be so much worse if I didn't have my insurance for doctors and meds. So I take 2-3 class's a semester. I think it's also a good work load for me as I'm not good with a lot. I am in the Business Studies Assoc. program at the community college here. I'll have a concentration in Computer Information systems and Admin Off.
It'll sound all fancy on a resume which is great but it really isn't all that bad. I think it's pretty cool because the computer classes give me my business credits and I only need maybe 3 other classes that I wouldn't normally take.

PS. I don't know why I'm always putting "class's" instead of "classes" this is like a non-thinking typo of my fingers doing what they want to do.

  • Thanks Jas- Yea this summer is recovery time from the surgery. Gotta get to the YMCA and make sure I'm walking the tradmil (or if I can get someone with me, walk outside but don't feel good about doing this alone) and use the pool. Both of these are highly recommended for recovering from back surgery.

Got an A+ in my courses this past semester. It's amazing how well I do in college compared to HS. Might have something to do with the fact that I'm paying for everything out of pocket...
  • pitty- I paid for everything out of pocket 8 yrs ago right after High school and that just made me choose work over school. I'm happy to hear that encourages you, it sure does help yourself focus more knowing you have to pay for it.
I am focused because I want and need this if I'm paying or not I would be doing just the same. With all the crap I have been though and not being able to continue back then.

  • Just wanted to say congrats, Play! Don't even say "it might not seem like a big deal"--I say the same to N all the time. It IS a big deal! Yay for good grades!
