Harry Potter Movieeee (Spoilers)

I noticed a lot of you mentioning you'd seen it, so.... what is your overall review?

Favorite scene?
Least favorite?
Best performance?
Funniest part?

I loved it all, personally. Although, I've gotten really cranky at everyone who chooses to go see this movie when I do. Seriously- don't bring your overactive screaming toddler. Or your flatulent kid. And don't answer your phone. Seriously!

Oh, and Weasley twin comeback- yes!

  • You might want to add "Spoilers" into the thread title.  Not that I care, because I'm not a HP fan, but some people might care.

  • what is your overall review? It was awesome! Much darker than even the last one. I think it set the scene well for the last movie. It may have been 2 1/2 hours long, but it flew by!

Favorite scene? As much as it made me cry, the scene where Dobby died was well done on all aspects. And Hermione being tortured, while kind of gruesome, was really heart wrenching! I also loved how they did the Three Brothers story.

Least favorite? Can't think of anything, honestly. I guess I would have liked to see Dudley say goodbye to Harry.

Best performance? Emma Watson as Hermione. As I said, the scene of her being tortured was so well done.

    Funniest part?
When Dobby and Kreacher brought Mundungus back. So funny!

I don't have these problems as I pick a movie time that doesn't encourage the attendance of children. Perhaps you should as well.  Then it virtually eliminates this problem.

I saw it. I'm still wondering about Mad Eye and Mundungus. Wasn't Mad Eye flying by himself when they left Harry's house, then somebody said something about Mundungus abandoning him. I will have to re-read to find out how it goes in the book.

I thought the funniest parts were Dobby's scenes. Especially him sitting on the chandelier. Except for his last scene of course. It always makes me tear up.

I think Emma played the Hermione emotional parts well, like when Bellatrix was torturing her, or when Ron was splinched.

  • SEWF- I laughed so much when they brought Dung back. Kreacher repeatedly poking him was hilarious.

Anna- Trust me, I tried. I prefer the weekday matinees for movies I'm really pumped about, but had no control over this one. Hopefully the last one won't be too bad, all the loud fighting will drown out any theater shenanigans.

  • i'm not good with answering lists of poll questions (i have a short attention span), but i'll chime in that i loved the movie! i feel like the trio's acting skills have improved tremendously.

i was happy when the minister of magic died because i couldn't take him seriously. the actor played a ridiculous guy in the movie "Love Actually," so i found myself singing this the rest of the night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7Q_bq07GVs&feature=related

I kept watching his mouth move, the way he talked, and it took me forever to realize he played Davy Jones in the Pirate of the Caribbean movies.

  • Favorite scene?  I have to pick just one?  I thought the Three Brothers story was really well done.  I also enjoyed the scene in the woods, when the mysterious doe patronus led Harry to the sword of Godric Griffyndor.  (Of course, knowing whose doe that was made the entire scene really stand out.  No book spoilers from me though!)  Also, the dance in the tent between Harry and Hermione.  (A friend of mine thought there was some weird sexual tension there, but I thought it was sweet and platonic.)  Oh, and the opening scene with the Death Eaters.  It was just so dark!

Least favorite?  Any scene in which Ron was either whining or freaking out.  He overacts those; they're almost painful to watch.  :(

Best performance?  I know she's criticized a lot, but I really liked Emma Watson in this movie, especially in that dance scene with Harry.  She conveyed subtle and conflicting emotions in a scene without any speech at all.  I was impressed.

Funniest part?  The little dome-looking things with feet that Harry used to smoke out that room in the Ministry of Magic so he could sneak into Umbridge's office.  I want one -- or ten!

i agree. her acting skills have improved tremendously over the last couple of movies. this is the first movie where i didn't think she "overacted" at all.

It's true. She's been bad in the past to overact and rely on her eyebrow movements to do her acting. But I could really feel her thoughts, when she oblivated her parents, dancing with Harry, and of course being tortured. She's got talent, that's for sure.

  • Favorite scene?
I don't know...I kinda liked Hermoine giving Ron hell when he came back. Actually I liked the whole scene starting with seeing the deer to the part where Ron comes back to camp.

    Least favorite?
When Harry and Hermoine dance. I mean it was sweet that he was trying to cheer her up but I spent the whole scene thinking "DON'T YOU DARE KISS HER!!" because that was totally the vibe I was getting.

On a similar note - when they're making out pretty much naked in the destruction of the horcrux scene - seriously movie people? naked?

    Best performance?
Hermoine for reasons already stated AND the scene where she wipes her parents memory.

    Funniest part?
When George (or was it Fred) came in while Harry and Ginny were kissing...it was funny in the first place but then that tooth brush sticking out of his ear made me cackle.

Mad Eye falls off his brrom and dies in the book.  The eye on the Ministry of Magic door is his.

  • Favorite scene? - I liked the wedding, the scenes in the ministry, when they visited Xenopilius Lovegood and the discovery of the sword of gryffindor.

Least favorite? - The scene of the deatheater meeting in the beginning. Holy uncomfortable. Also, I think they changed a lot when they went on the run in London right after the wedding.

Best performance? - I always think Emma Watson is amazing!

Funniest part? - The Harry/Ginny makeout scene.
