My response would be, "Really? Are you serious? Go fuuck yourself." Yeah, she should TOTALLY apologize to the guy who sexually harassed her. I mean, it's her fault she was just so damn cute.

This is what the voice mail said:“Good morning Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas. I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and the years and ask you to consider something. I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband. So give it some thought. And certainly pray about this and hope that one day you will help us understand why you did what you did. O.K., have a good day.”

I have never heard anything about Ms. Hill retracting.  In reaction to this latest stunt by  Mrs. Thomas, she stated that she stands by her testimony. 

On the other hand, a  detractor who wrote a book about Anita Hill HAS retracted his book and admitted it was a nasty smear job with no basis in fact.

I had not heard about any retracting, so I can't comment on that. But I will say that Anita Hill had quite a large amount of backlash at the time. Twenty years ago, sexual harassment wasn't on anyone's radar. There wasn't training for it. Hell, there wasn't really legisltion AGAINST it. That's the issue that really brough work place harassment to the forefront.

 Some guy (David Brock) wrote a smear job on Anita Hill (the book was called "The Real Anita Hill) and has retracted.

This whole thing is weird.  Why would Mrs. Thomas call her out of the blue after all this time?  It's not offering an olive branch when you're asking someone to apologize to you.  Presumably if they thought they did something wrong they would have apologized!

At first I thought it was an overreaction by Anita Hill to forward it to the authorities, but she probably gets prank calls so it's better to get it on the record I guess.  I wonder why she played the message for the NY Times though.  I feel there's more to the story here.

Maybe the FBI wasn't able to trace it. And going through the media was the easiest way to get Virginia Thomas to confirm it was her.

One would think.....  It does seem odd to ask for an apology NOW.  Right after it happened, maybe (still would seem weird), but this is out there.
