You know what cracks me up? Some people complain about wedding updates on  Facebook pages. Compared to some of the stuff I see on Facebook, even the most gushy and silly wedding update is wonderful ("Went to the cake tasting!"   "Tried on 62 dresses!" You know the drill). 

I got all three of these goodies in the past two weeks and deleted all of them from my page because they were just icky (at least to me) I swear these were actual updates:

"I think I am getting divorced"

"Tired of this yeast infection" (no, not kidding!!!)

"Glad my sister is working through her rape trauma".

None of these were from close friends, more like people I encounter socially sometimes and just happen to have Facebook friended. I am seriously thinking of deleting the authors of status update two and three.

I feel for person number one, but a tad personal for Facebook in my opinion!

So, if anyone is cranked off about endless wedding updates, I suggest you think of how much worse it could be.

Every time someone on my friends list makes an inane status update, be it TMI, ridiculously radical political statements, grammar so bad I can hardly read it, whatever. I delete them. If they can't be bothered to type the word "you" instead of "u," state their political beliefs intelligently, or have a status updates NOT related to their kids, they get deleted. Kid status updates are ok, in moderation, as long as it's not clear that you've lost all individuality because you procreated, I don't mind them. But some people way over do it.

I will say I tend to use the horrible abbreviations too often such as u for you. Its faster and it becomes a disgusting habit. It makes it really fun when I sit down for an exam.

People are crazy. My sister says she can tell how good of a day she's having by how many people she defreinds on FB. If she hasn't deleted anyone all day, it's a good day. If it's a bad day, she may defriend 10 people over their stupid comments.

I can deal with the occassional wedding update on FB.  What I can't stand are the people who have to end EVERY update with "I love you SOOOO much (significant other's name)!!! You're my whole life!!!!  I can't live without you!!!! OMG!!!  Gush, gush, gush!!!"  Periodically reminding us all that your BF/GF/FI/DH is wonderful and appreciated is sweet.  To post how much you can't live without this person several times a day is annoying...especially when you've known this person for all of 3 months.

I too use my un-friending skill - or you can ignore updates from annoying people.  I've never seen anybody whine about a YI on facebook though.  Cramps, maybe.

I have had a friend do yeast updates too.  It went like this.

Yeast: 46587  Heather: Zero

and then she would update the counts depending on who she thought was winning.

The yeast thing is just plain unforgivable. Thanks to the comments about un-friending, I deleted some people! It always seemed so "un-nice" to do it, but all things considered it made sense.

I agree on the "Oh..... Joey Bob I can't live without you" updates. Yuk, who are you trying to prove it to? Yourself maybe?

The the Failbook and Lamebook sites - wow. It gets much worse than what I have seen!

   I had to hide two or three friends on there. First one was super politcal and loved to fight about it. Second person posts way too many updates and tweets about everything she does. She also posts up endless head shots she takes with her cell phone. Endless.

I have deleted the political people who are always b!tchin on fb. I don't think the wedding stuff annoys me as much. LOL at the crotch rot...wouldn't that person be embarrassed?? People continue to surprise me. What kinds of comments were these people getting?

there is a girl i'm friends with on fb, and no joke, EVERYDAY she updates her status for her due date, can't wait to meet our little boy, the number of days til her due date, can't wait until our lil man is here, time frame until due date in weeks, then what she's doing that day!! 

she makes me wanna punch myself in the face. there is no need to state your due date three times, in three different ways! I understand being excited and all, but come on now, this has been going on for MONTHS.

and ew. who would talk about crotch rot?? That's just WRONG.

The divorce one cracks me up - I'm a paralegal for a family law attorney.  For one sticky divorce, we represented the guy and the woman had an open FB profile and wall.  One of the issues that was being brought up was drinking during placement of the kids.  I went onto her wall and printed her wall updates for the past year and they.were.horrifying.  Let's just say that the Court knew a LOT of private details about her life because she would post every single time she had a drink or a beer or a pregnancy scare or a throat fungus (yes.).  It was amazing, for us.

I'll give the occasional update about the wedding on FB.  Like, every month on the 21st I'll give the "months-to-go" countdown.  (For example...Tomorrow I'll do the "3 months to go!")  Or when I picked up my dress from the store I made some comment about that...but yeah...that's about it.

As for my FSIL (engaged to my bro) - ugh - her posts, literally, make me want to throw up.  Every status update, every day, is about how in love and perfect their relationship is.  And how she's so thankful for their perfect life and perfect house.  Seriously?  Does she live in a fantasy world?!  My BFF is friends with her on FB and emailed me one day at work saying, "Your FSIL just made me throw up a little in my mouth with her status update."  It's that bad.  I'm sure it doesn't help that she's 22 and he's 30 and everything in her little reality is so perfect.  Oh wait...no it's not...when she actually stops and remembers that he's been divorced, then she throws a pity party for herself about how horrible that is for her.  Ugh...what nonsense.

Sorry for the rant...she's been getting under my skin.  She actually made a scene at my cousin's wedding last weekend because she overheard my mom telling someone that my aunt pulled a muscle at my bro's wedding because she was dancing so much.  Yeah...after FSIL heard that, she sat down at cried at her table because she was so upset about how he's been married before.  Um really?  Grow the F up.

OK...I'm done now.
