Car AC problems, can you help?

I'm having an AC problem. It starts blowing cold air at first, then after 20 minutes it starts blowing warm air. I've taken it to get checked out by two different guys and they are giving two different solutions. Have you had this problem? It has freon, so that's not the problem, please help. I don't want to melt this summer.

Thanks!

Jess

Mine did that once and the mechanic said my tempurature gauge was going out. I'm not sure if that was the exact cause because it started at the end of last summer and I got a new car last month, so I never got it fixed.

Just because it has freon doesn't mean that it's working.  If I remember correctly, freon has to be charged every now and then.  I would take it to a third place and see if he agrees with one of the other guys.  I would work it like a math problem:  keep working it until you get the same answer twice.

mine did this last summer and it was a relay that needed replacing.

Honestly, I'd get a third opinion and see what that guy says.  I've had problems with my AC in the past but I think every car is different and there are multiple things that could be going wrong.  I definitely wouldn't try to get an answer from girls on a message board.  We're not mechanics and don't have access to your car to know what the problem is.

I appreciate your responses. Thanks ladies!

To Mariah09202008 , I was just asking if anybody has had this problem and get an idea of what it could be so when I do go to the mechanic I can ask to check different things.  I'm not just going to use someone's response, go to a mechanic and tell him to fix that certain thing because it happened to somebody else.
