Snarky Brides

*AATB*

We're nine days out. You got yo shiit together? I think I do. Think. I'm sure there are 87 things I'm not thinking of right this second. Also, do people keep asking you if you're nervous? About 10 people have asked me that over the course of this week. And I don't know what, exactly, they think I should be nervous about? The marriage? Not tripping on my dress walking up the aisle? I'm more worried about tripping than I am married life.

Re: *AATB*

  • YAY, cant wait to see both of your wedding pics.

LC- its seems like you were forever "not" planning. Then you started and now it's over already. And I'm sure you will be fine.

And AATB just needs to lock her mom in the closet till it's over. Let her out for the party.

  • Thanks! And yeah, I sat on my ass and didn't plan the first thing until about 7 months in to my 13 month engagement. I like to live in the edge, what can I say?

I'm waiting for you to get yours overwith, LC because then its my turn. And it turns out you picked the perfect weekend. Who knew Arkansas would be an important game this season? Not me. I guess I had no faith. They still haven't announced the time, so I'm hoping for a noon game :/

ETA: NM I was still under the impression that you had picked UL Monroe weekend, but that's this weekend. At least Ole Miss is at 2:30 and not 7.

  • I hated that question. People made me nervous by acting like there was something to be nervous about, like I was forgetting something or something bad was about to happen.

Here's to a stress-free next 9 days for you both, and Blue!

I'm still mad they switched the schedule up and the LSU/Arkansas game isn't still the day after Thanksgiving. Every bride in Baton Rouge getting married during football season swarmed the venues for the bye week and non conference game weeks, so I got stuck with having the wedding during the Ole Miss game. Not my top pick, but I'll take it. And it's on the opening day of rifle season for deer. So 2 of my cousins and my officiant are leaving right after the ceremony to get back to north LA to hunt.

  • Honest to God - I'm all over the damn place.  As of right this minute, I'm fine.  In an hour, I could be stressing to shiit.  But at this point it's dumb to stress.  It will come together, I know that, and stressing out accomplishes nothing.  Except give me cold sores, and I really don't want that.

But yeah, I do want to lock my mom in a closet til rehearsal :) SHE CRAZY.

People always, always are asking me: Are you ready?  Are you nervous?  Where are you going on your honeymoon?  I'm not nervous until people ask me if I'm nervous.  It's like, why, should I be nervous!?  Stop that!  I'm FINE!  :)

I orginally had my date set for Nov. 4 (or something around there) and my dad kindly reminded me that my wedding date could fall on the opening of rifle season. I gave up and chose a wedding date that wasn't during hunting or football season.

Neither my brother nor my dad had any problem with the hunting season thing. But I think that's only because they didn't realize I'd picked it until waaaaaay too late. I know you're in BR too, so if you don't mind my asking, where did y'all get married?

That's how it's been for me this week. As soon as I get one thing taken care of, I think of another stupid detail, freak out for a few minutes, then take care of that one.

Exactly.  And I do have some things that actually have to get taken care of this week and this weekend (gifts, eeeeek) - but I have it all figured out in my head, it's just actually DOING it that I'm having trouble with.  Most of the time when I get stressed, I just throw everything to the side and watch tv or go to bed so I don't have to deal with it til later.  Haha, unfortunately - I'm running out of time to be able to do that.

  • The comment I got tired of was "you know its not to late to change your mind"!

You will both be just fine. I was actually suprised at how calm I was. And once you see you FI's at the end of that aisle, you will be too.

  • Well my dad would not have MADE me change my date, but I know I would have had alot of people either not show up, or show up and not be happy about it.

And I'm not from BR. TK just doesn't recognize anything north of BR apparently. I'm in Central LA.

Yup, according to TK the only two places that exist in Louisiana are Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

  • One of the dates we were considering was deer opener weekend... but we ended up deciding against it because the reception venue was booked for something else.  Haha, in the end though - I'm really glad we got the date we ended up with.  Our caterer is a deer hunter and he takes that whole opening weekend off every year to hunt.  He's like, the only caterer in the area for miles (thank you, small town) who can do large weddings.  We would have been shitouttaluck and had to go hunting for someone else.
