Oh I saw this over the weekend! I could probably have written that articulately at 14 but there's no way in hell I could have stood in front of a room and expressed myself that way, I still couldn't do it now.

Good for him. He's going places.

I just saw this today.  What an amazingly brave 14 year old kid.  I know very few who could be so articulate, graceful, and genuine.

Simply Fated

I was able to write well, but not speak well... certainly nowhere near as well as that boy. Speaking in public at that age (and at the age I am now lol) gave me serious anxiety. I'd have probably just cried. And even if I did manage to stay tear-free, I always used a LOT more "uhhs" and "umms" when I spoke.
I'm very impressed by him, not only for speaking well, but for giving such a heartfelt and powerful speech.

^ Me too.  I was also better at expressing things in writing, so if I had to talk to anyone it was necessary for me to write things out first to get my ideas organized and coherent.  Actually, that's still sometimes true.  :)
