Hi Ladies,

There is a women in the Arlington rea who does both cake and flowers From what I can tell she has the best prices around. Her cakes taste good and she has good reviews, but since I'm still new at this I wanted some advice.
The cake will be a three layer cake with 2 dummies and a sheet cake to actually serve. It will all be around $550 for 400 people.
Flowers I'm just getting bouquets done. One bridal, one toss and 7 bridesmaids for $525. The bridal is the expensive one at $150, then $35 toss and $45 for bridemaids.

The cake sounds incredibly cheap to me.  I think $35 for a toss bouquet is ridiculous.  You might want to see if you can talk that down--just tell her you want something totally simple--not a duplicate of the BM's bouquet.  Her flower prices are certainly reasonable, but not bargain-basement cheap.  For comparison, my bouquet was $175, my BM's $35 and my toss free.  It also depends on what kinds and how many flowers you are using to know for sure if it is fair.

Does this include delivery and set up (of the cake)?  I would make sure she has no other charges.

Flower prices sound in line with what I'm paying.  My toss bouquet is free, but my BM bouquets are $60/piece.  Bridal bouquet is $125.  It depends on what kind of flowers you're using, I'm going with ranunculus, peonies, hydrangeas, etc, and those typically run a little higher than roses.

The prices for the cake include everything.

I told her with the flowers that it needs to be in season and nothing fancy. Honestly I didn't care that much about it as long as it matched the colors

How much does the cake come out to a slice? Ours is pretty cheap at $1.50/slice. I found $3-4.50/slice to be the going price for a very nice cake
