ring exchange

I know this may be a silly question, but I was wondering how we do the ring exchange...do I wear my engagement ring at the actual ceremony? If so, does my fiance take it off then put the wedding band on then put the engagement ring back on? or should I just switch them later?

I think most girls either wear their e-rings on the right hand or wear it on the left and switch them later... I haven't decided which one, I'll do.

I asked FI if he'd take my e-ring off, then put on the wedding band, and then the e-ring back on... he said he'd be too nervous to do all that!

I think it really depends on what you want to do. Some don't wear the engagement ring at all and then put it on later and some insist on wearing it.  It's whatever feels right to you.  I don't think their really are any rules any more.

I had my soldered together the day before, so they were already stuck the right way, but I was planning on wearing it as usual and just fixing them after the ceremony.

I had my e-ring on my ring finger and then just switched them around after the ceremony.  It wasn't something I even thought about.

I did the same as shortgirl.  I switched them as soon as we walked out of the ceremony room.  It took 2 seconds.

Your preference, but for me I will wear the e-ring on my right hand then switch it after ceremony.  Or give it to my MOH until after the ceremony. Why bc the wedding band is supposed to be closest to your heart, therefore should go on first. Laughing
